well.. one positive thought is that these are new Combo plans. For those using phone for calls you do get 450 free calls. Effectively for 550 you get 9GB data which is better than current rate of Combo500(1.5GB @2mbps).So still there is hope BSNL may launch new unlimited plans soon.
When I called up the BSNL guys they told me the Rs900,1000 and 1100 plans are all 2Mbps but they are changed to 256K after 7,8 and 10GB respectively. But when told him about the newspaper ads where different speeds are given he told me to wait and put me on hold. I waited for 2 minutes then hung up.
As expected, very poor plans! BSNL (read govt) don't know how to do business! They should offer something like 512Kbps For Rs.500, 1Mbps for Rs.800 and 2Mbps for Rs.1100, and for these plans they could add FUP like 20GB, 30GB and 50GB respectively or more GB, if possible! They could have added more juice like rollover of unused bandwidth to the next month. Unfortunately, these guys don't understand how to sell a product. We really don't need 8/16/24Mbps speed and I guess most can't afford it either!
BSNL Unlimited Plans
Rs900/Month 512Kbps upto 7GB then reduced to 256Kbps speed
Rs1000/Month 1Mbps upto 8GB then 256Kbps
Rs1100/Month 2Mbps upto 10GB then 256Kbps
Rs750/Month 256Kbps with no free calls.
Considering free calls of 400, 450 and 500 new plans cost actually only...
Rs500/Month 512Kbps upto 7GB then reduced to 256Kbps speed + 400 for 400 calls
Rs550/Month 1Mbps upto 8GB then 256Kbps + 450 for 450 calls
Rs600/Month 2Mbps upto 10GB then 256Kbps + 500 for 500 calls
