Rest of the issues seems to be over. Now the only problem is the always on top sify broadband client icon that stays on all the applications. In spite of the fact that we already have a blinking tray icon which does the same job of letting me access the client's option...

hey.. funny.. my sify broadband icon doesn't stay on top all the time.. are you sure you are using the latest client?? if yes then the icon only stays on top of everything on my system sometimes.. most of the times it just sits there on the desktop.. when it does come on top of everything and refuses to go away then i press ctrl+alt+del and go to the process tab and close the client and then restart it again.. this usually makes it stay on the desktop where it belongs

latest client? how many upgrades have we seen yet? and well it does stay on top of everything most of the times. and no it does not belong to desktop. it belongs to the system tray. sify should learn from the 24x7 online client. it's totally non intrusive and even more feature packed.

The broadband icon is most irritating. It cannot be minimized and sits there and makes life miserable. What does Sify think - Big Brother watching you ?As it is we have horrible connectivity with a terrible CTO. The fellow (in Malleswaram Bangalore) had the temerity to tell me that you are paying 500bucks and what service do you expect. I was a dial up customer of Sify for years and now regret wswitching to broadband. I gave him a big peice of my mind and if this continues I am thinking of going to the consumer court. Any one interested in a cl@$$ action suit !Prasanna

the software s*cks for sure. it is non-responsive and as knak wrote somewhere, slows down the net with time. and the always on icon is tricky. sometimes it hides down sometimes it does not. like at this very moment, the icon is not on top... and i like it that ways... 🙂

system tray icon can be hidden using the XP's internal feature. and well, i found that killing the login client from task manager keeps you logged in 😉
