Airtel Broadband to double broadband speeds by June 2010 #airtelsucks

Haha. This was what I was mentioning sometime back. Mint money by making people pay for testing their own network!
 
Yes, we all were guessing the same. Such an offer would be followed by a slash in the prices.
 
so finally i will be getting 1 Mbps on my 1299 plan..with the 4mbps as an alternative..but even then its 300 bucks costlier than similar plan from MTNL
 
i finally went for 1mbps all day iptv plan today. had waited for too long for them to do something about lowering the costing of the plans. let's see if my 1mbps is converted to 2mbps in the near future. and hopefully without limits like 4GB or 8GB or even 50GB.
 
Thanx for sharing the news. Airtel had upgraded my 256 unlimited plan to 512kbps for Rs 100 extra and now they have doubled my speed to 1Mbps free of cost :yahoo:Airtel rocks !!! :thumb:
 

Hmm ^ Interesting. I have a similar scenario, though at the next stages of bandwidth. Was on 512kbps, paid 100, got 1 Mbps, and now have been receiving 2 Mbps for few days
 
Are they upgrading the 2Mbps people to 4Mbps also? Or at least reducing the price of the current 2Mbps UL plan?
 
2 mbps will be doubled to 4mbps. But the 899 Plan is different , this offers 4 mbps for 6 gb and after that your speed is downgraded to 256.Fair Usage will be surely there. The cap would be 75gb.
 
I'm talking about the 2Mbps UL users. The Freedome 2999 plan. Will they be upgraded?
 
There is no specific mention on 2mbps. But as far as I heard it should be doubled to 4mbps. Earlier when airtel launched doublespeed offer at rs.100/- 2 mbps were not doubled saying there is no speed option of 4mbps at present. Now since they are launching 4mbps caps.. 2mbps will be doubled also..else the rate will be reduced...
 
Either way it is a good move. Thanks. I hope they just remove the stupid FUP though!

will be interesting if they do that, another thing to ponder about is what will happen to users who opted for that 100 bucks double speed will there speed be doubled again 🙂
