Intresting...

Yeah, and the way ISPs are in UK, I'm led to believe that service standards in India are EXCELLENT!

no way what u people have seen are exceptions, by and large services in developed countries are better than in India.I have lived in U.K and have used AOL and BT and i can say that they are a lot better than what we have here.

Well I've lived in the states and have to say that AOL definitely sucks a big fat one... and customer service isn't anything different there than here (americans would say that we are their customer service anyway!)I don't know about other ISPs, but Airtel definitely has given me the same level of quality as I would have expected from an american company. And that whole thing in the video about getting stuck on the phone for 21 minutes is not that much of an exception in the states... I had to call Dell on a couple of occasions, and I think I must have been on the phone (most of the time on hold) for a good 20 - 25 minutes too. Thankfully I haven't had that same experience here.So no.. I don't buy that developed countries have better service.

Heh, the real answer on this topic is a big fat "IT DEPENDS".For one thing infrastucture in the west is a hell of a lot better so connections tend to stay up FAR more reliably then over here. With my last isps 90% of the calls were regarding conectivity issues. I got better service as i was able to test things better than the fools they had working for them. With Airtel, i would say uptimes are fairly close to what i had with roadrunner in NYC. I have called Airtel a total of maybe 5 times for the entire year !!!So if things work out then you waste less time on wait. For other things i would say the probs are similar since most of them contract out to co.s here and it makes no diff, still shit. Cept that the co.s save a few bucks more in the bargain 🙂Think about it, smart ppl are not going to opt for stresfull call center jobs anywhere in the world, when they can make more elsewhere for easier, leaving you with the less smart that would not be able to find better. If you are lucky enough to have someone competent on the line, consider yourself lucky.
