This started a week ago now. I'm using Explorer 1099 plan, with 384 Kbps daytime speeds and 1 Mbps night time speeds. The speed change used to happen automatically at around 9:45 pm at night. Since a week this is not happening. I have to manually disconnect and reconnect now to get the night speeds. I complained to Airtel and their executive confirmed that this is a change in policy. Also confirmed (on Twitter) with one other person who is using the same plan.

I want to confirm that everybody who is using plans with different say/night speeds is facing the same problem. Also, if this is for everybody, then I need a workaround for this to happen automatically in OS X. (My router has telnet disabled, so can't write a shell script).

Or maybe, we can all call up Airtel and protest against this.

hmm. i have been sleeping during the night time so i have not checked for this problem myself. would become a major headache if it has become like this now. i would probably downgrade to 512 all day long.

I don't seem to have any such issue. My speed gets updated automatically at 9:45 PM and 6:10 AM daily. I am on the Turbo 1299

@ajab.ghajabAre you in Delhi? If yes then it seems that only people with the Explorer 1099 plan have been targeted. I need more people to confirm this.

i am in gurgaon. i have not rebooted my modem in days. so i guess it is not applicable on my plan (512 day 1mbps night)

i am on the same plan and had to restart modem to get 1 mbps since past week

ya even I had to reboot my modem tdy to get higher speed also its hanging quite freq. now.....

I had experienced this issue only once earlier. I restarted on that particular day. After that I never needed to.

I'm on Explorer 1099 too, and i am getting the speed boosts without any restart at 09.45 PM.PS: I am from Karnataka. So i am pretty sure its for your guys up in Delhi only
