considering they are one of the most widely used webmail services around... they would get the things back in order before the final launch.

Yahoo trying to be gmail ?Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ?Yahoo has had mail since 1995. It's superquick on slow connections.I never bothered with gmail.Nuff said.

It was Gmail's 2 GB space that forced yahoo to give 1 GB space. Gmail works good on slow connection too.., you have to access plain html version.Try accessing it from WAP, it gives you a stripped down interface but gives functionality of of conversations, search etc.

Certainly, Google upping quotas affected others, that was a good side effect. But why bother with html gmail, when yahoo doe sit already, i have no need to check mail over a mobile as yet, (surely Y! must have something equivalent). I figure if its that urgent they will just call anyway 🙂

i find it pretty nice. ability to open things in tabs. hate that in gmail. i cant keep open a mail and write another...

Sushubh, i know you've been in this for ages. So beg pardon if i sound a trifle impertinent. I get around the tab thing in gmail by using the tab option in the firefox browser. I have tried reading one mail and writing another in the firefox tabs, but yet to try writing two mails in tandem.

IMHO the vertical scrollbar in yahoo mail beta for the mails (say in the inbox) is a real pain. When you scroll down, the fresh headers have to brought in from the mail server i guess. If the line is a little slow, it is very easy to get lost while navigating through the list of mails. In that sense the page by page refresh was better.

otherwise the interface is like a familiar email-client interface and looks a lot more beautiful than the usual webmail interface.

It took me a little while getting used to the "conversation-style" organisation in gmail. Because i am familiar with the pc style of organising stuff into folders, this is a little confusing. More so because some mails get duplicated in the inbox and in the sent items in gmail.

One thing about Yahoo that used to irritate me was the fact that logging in didn't take you directly to your inbox. Instead you were taken to a Welcome page with an ad on it.

yahoo will now try to integrate the chat client with mail just like Gmail didbut they will improve it ....they may add few things with it and so the public will start praising them 😛

Gmail is better than Beta Yahoo. Though yahoo tried to copy Gmail but Gmail is good. But there are some flaws in bot the webmail services. Error 007 in Gmail sucks. But Beta yahoo is a trial version of yahoo's Gen-x webmail service. Lets see who wins the race!!!!!
