I will be getting turbo 444 from tomorrow.I have 5 year old pentium 3 700 mhz computer with intel i810e tomato zx motherboard.I have usb 1.1 port. Will this usb 1.1 slow down my net speeds? Will I have to install usb 2.0 on my computer? That will be expensive as I may have to buy new motherboard and stuff!!  this turbo 444 offers 444 mb and 444 minutes talktime.talktime is useless for me as I only need internet. what is ideal plan for me. I am light-medium internet user.

invest 150 bucks more to get 128 unlimited. u dont have to pay anything for calls. you get unlimited internet.

Please specify plan name. Are you referring to 699 unlimited plan?I had to subscribe to this 444 plan as I did not wanted top buy the instrument.I was told I could change to another plan once I got my first bill. Are you referring to 699 unlimited plan?

err.. you did not comment upon my usb 1.1 port situation. Will it significantly reduce my net speed? Do I have to go for usb 2 port? 🤔 🙁

I live in delhi.

Answering both your questions:
[*]USB 1.1 will not hamper your speeds unless you get a connection over 12 Mbps!!!
[*]Home 699 Plus is what you need to go for. It's not a top-up plan, and you get 128Kbps unlimited for Rs. 699 (modem rent included) + taxes.
[/list]oh, and FYI you don't need to upgrade your motherboard to get USB 2.0 !!! You just get a PCI card and installing it is a piece of cake.

Hmm, does this work well at all ?

Tho given the parent posters config, i think he may be able to use just one PCI card as the other 2 slots would be for video & sound and locked to those. I use a PC similar to the one described and this limitation drives me nuts. The only PCi card that has to be there is a ethernet one and thats it.

well I have a USB 2.0 card in one of my (4) slots... works like a gem - never given me a problem. but yes if you don't have a slot free, then you don't have that option.anyway, USB 1.1. is sufficient for any kind of broadband connection available in India, so this is a moot issue right now.

Certainly i myself use a usb to ethernet adapter (Netgear EA101) from my USB1.1 to connect to Airtel and works great. Get speeds of 25KB/s which i would say fits bang into the median users experience.Tho the working is more a function of a good driver than the USB conversion.

yup. my current pc is a dinoasaur. I hate my system! 😱 Hopefully I can get a better internet experience from airtel than from the absolutely horrible one I get currently from Reliance 144 Kbps FWP wireless phone. I hope the crappy internet speed has not too much to do with my system! keepinng fingers crossed. will get airtel 444 turbo tomorrow. 🤔
