@ Crazysah,

You will possibly not hear about it since you are possibly not a part of the "Save WS" campaign..! Anyways, as I said these are just rumors and nothing has been confirmed.

Ok. So how do I become a part of the Save WS campaign?

@blr_p,Thank God that supporting evidence is restricted till the boundaries of your mind..!! 😉@crazysah,The Save WS campaign is on Facebook, I think the link to that was posted by Shanti a few days back..!

I dont use worldspace, if you have any hopes of seeing them back then facts might increase those chances rumours however are useless.

So go do your homework cos, what ive found does not support your statements.

Thats the difference. You were NOT a subscriber of WS while I was for the past 4 years. And as I told you before, I am not interested whether you believe it or not. I am not asking anyone here to support my statements. I guess you need to do your class work properly before you can go and do some home work..!

Liberty to liquidate WorldSpace's India biz - dnaindia.com
There seems to be more to the sudden closure of US-based satellite radio service provider WorldSpace Inc’s operations in India than meets the eye.
Employees of the satellite radio service company have learnt that American media conglomerate Liberty Media, which has acquired WorldSpace’s worldwide liabilities and is in the process of taking over its assets, is planning to liquidate operations in India “to wipe off the current liabilities with subsidiary, subscribers, employees, vendors and business associates.”
After that, the potential new owner will provide services in India through the WorldSpace satellite “at a later date.”
In a note addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the employees of WorldSpace India have written that the whole process was being carried out in a hushed manner to avoid participation of Indian investors in the deal.
“Despite India being a primary market, the sale of the asset is being concluded without publicising the same in India and ruling out any possibility of a domestic investor in India participating in the sale,” states the letter to the PM and ministries concerned.
Apparently, domestic direct-to-home (DTH) service vendors Reliance Big TV and Tata Sky had evinced interest in acquiring the operation of the satellite radio service provider.“The discussion, however, with both of them never moved to the second stage,” said a WorldSpace official who did not want to be named.

1) 0.5 million in subscribers for a market like the uS is peanuts, one would certainly have had higher expectations for India. If each subscriber stumps < $5, 5 million is a better number than 0.5 subscribers.
2) I doubt the others made any tempting offers to whoever owns WS's liabilities or it would defnitely have gotten to round 2.
3) Ws may return at a later date is doubtful as the concept itself does not seem to have got much traction here. If it comes back it would have to be in a radically different presentation, one that hopes to get more than 0.5 million.

Worldspace has close down ...why the section is still there.if possible Delete it.

Hmm... Considering that they are still active in other countries - One could consider let it remain open for any updates..

they have shut down completely i thought.......but at last if it is not in India then what's the use.

True... but then we also have sub-forums for comcast and other non-Indian broadband providers & so on - so as a group it will be tough to arrive which forums to retain & which to knock off... As such I dont have a personal reason for worldspace forum to exist 😀
