Well it's been confirmed from my cable operator guy. According to him, within 2 months, hotwire will be owned by VSNL. All that extra bandwidth, well guess what VSNL is going to do with it? Offer unlimited packages in the range of 256kbps and up. All the way upto 1mbps unlimited. I'm not sure on the price but as and when I get updates, I will post it here. All ready hotwire has released a hidden 512 unlimited package. Not sure myself how to get that 😉.

1mbps unlimited..... u must be joking

vsnl has also acquired 7Star isp recently.i dont know what they are uptoi hope they come up with unlimited packages at cheap rates

No I'm not joking. All ready when I log into my hotwire account it says "powered by VSNL" so they're slowly getting the changes rolling out. 1 mbps will be possible.

hopefully we will see good speeds and good policies like no port blocks and not datacaps at affordable prices!

keep us updated ryan. i'm not going to dream of of affordable 1mbps anytime soon, given vsnl's tendencies and track record.hmm... time to fish out the hotwire's local number. i still remember being cajoled (and even almost scolded) when the lady who runs the LCO got to know i was shifting to airtel.

Twice a day, it says server maintainence. Called up my local CTO and he said that the server and the software is being upgraded. It is about 75% done. So acquisition is almost finished. Still no word on the prices however.

i asked my local cable operator and he told me nothing of this sort is happening , VSNL was in talks with direct internet but the deal wasnt fully implemented . Vsnl will only buy a certain stake in the company
