Tata Indicom Plug 2 Surf = Does not work on weekends

Hi Friends,I have a strange problem to disucss. I have been using TATA Indicom Plug 2 Surf modem for over a year now and I live in Pune. I always reacharge my internet with Rs 801 for 30 days unlimited day & night package. But sometimes during weekends ie Saturdays and Sundays the internet does not work at all for no reason and then it starts working again on Monday automatically. Generally the internet access disappers some time between 7-8 pm on Saturday evenings and comes back on Monday morning. I use Linux and there is no virus problem etc. And even my Windows XP shows the error 721: The remote computer did not respond... My Windows XP is fully updated with genuie anti-virus, firewall software and there is no virus problem here as well.Have you had similar problems? Please let me know what you have done. Whenever I talk to the Tata agent about this he simply says that it must be a server problem ie server down. This is a nuisance as I tend to lose 3-4 days worth of internet usage despite paying for 30 whole days. ThanksJames

Hello James,The Tata agent might be right in saying that the server must have crashed...actually on sat-sun the servers get heavily loaded due to high number of users using the net on these days...I don't know what can solve your problem but following solution might help:The connection which you have got works on dynamic ip..that is every time you login a new ip is assigned to you to connect to net...you may manually dedicate a single ip for your net connection..you can search net for more information on how to select a static ip from the range available from your service provider..I believe doing this might improve the situation for you...Let me know if it works for you...

Thanks alot guys, but I have stopped using it now and I am with a cable broadband connection.
