Tata Indicom 4mbps NU
I just logged in to the Tata Indicom site. I found that they have totally changed the layout.
I didn't like the new interface. You need to click more to get the information. Earlier one was better that this 😡 though it was not very attractive.
Also as I am nearing the end of my balance, I wanted to recharge my account. I am using 4 mbps NU plan. I found that I was shown following screen :

This one totally different than older one. It does not mention the plan names. Just price of value cards? What are they? 😡
And does this mean that they no longer provide 2mbps/4mbps plans to wireline customers? Just WiMax? That would be really disastrous 😛leasehelp: What would happen to existing wireline customers?

I called yesterday about this, since the validity on my 4Mbps is expiring soon. The support told me that the wired plans are discontinued for new home customers, but that existing customers will be able to extend their existing plan when they carry out the recharge. I actually like the new recharge options. It works out cheaper for NU-only users.

So I am not allowed to change plans, Right? I have to continue with my existing plan only 🙁But does this also mean that they will in future force us to shift to Wi Max? 😱

there is an option to change plan in "My Account Information". But its not showing any plans at present. Basically they have tried to separate plan from recharge. and now its all in a mess :ashamed:

@sandy84did you try recharging? i think once you recharge your account will change to this "value card" system and after that you will be able to change your tariff plan from that menu.. (just a guess) :bowtoyou:

Nope. All recharge does is add value/validity.

@srk006

I recharged using Value card today.
Now I get following screen when I click 'Change Plan'

They are wireline plans, right? But no more time based plans of 2mbps/4mbps!! 🙁

huh. just 5 plans!! this is too bad... think its time to leave TI

sandy84, you are still able to use 4mbps NU right?

----------

Also, what's the current rate for 9-9 night UL?

^^ Yes. I am getting 4mbps NU also. Rates are Rs. 300 if you are using 2mbps plans and Rs.500 if using 4mbps plans. As I am using 4mbps plan, I am paying Rs.500.They are charging Rs.24/hr for 4mbps plans (that too maximum for super 75 plan. Some plans had even lower rate.) Now they are charging Rs.19/hr for 512kbps. What a joke!! :ishock:

@sandy84I have some doubt regarding Night UL.does the balance decrease in Night UL period? and they credit it back the next day. does it work like this? or does the usage show Rs.0 for you. if possible a screen of your night ul period log 🙂

Earlier it used to show Rs. 0 as the charges when NU is active (9pm to 9am). But now a days (I think for last 3 weeks), it shows the charged rupees for the usage even if NU is active. Also balance is deducted for the same amount. And this amount is then credited back next day. Will post the screenshot later.

^^ thanks for the confirmation, sandy84. I thought its happening only with me!
