If you want to download VLC then the official versions are available at the VideoLan website–the organization composed of volunteers who develop the media player. However, if you do a search for VLC on the top two search engines: Google or Bing, a number of malicious links appear alongside the official VideoLan page.

For some unknown weird reason .flv files don't play in WMP 12 and this is the only reason I use VLC.Is there anyone else facing the same problem?Actually, the WMP just stops at the play screen and cpu usage goes a bit high.
WMP is bloaty and has crappy keyboard shortcuts. And god knows what kind of data is sent to Microsoft servers. I do not remember the last time I used it to play anything on my computer 😀
