Hi: Did any one help me to know that is it possible to dial Toll Free number (1600...., 1800......, 1500) from BSNL Cell phone (prepiad & Postpaid)?Is it really Toll free or you will be charged for call if dialed from BSNL Cell phone ?

Toll free numbers can only be dialled from Fixed lines of BSNL and MTNL.You wont be able to call Toll free numbers from any cellphone including BSNL. It will not connect sayin invalid number..

Hi, I am Rajan from Chennai, I am having a BSNL Prepaid connection, I can call toll free numbers.. its free from my mobile, I tried and it works.. but one condition.. you should have atleast Rs. 150/- balance while calling a Toll free number.. i RAJAN @ CHENNAI

Technically all toll free numbers of BSNL are supposed to work from all BSNL phones including Mobiles..(both prepaid and post paid)... even I had this problem and opened a new thread regarding 1600, 1800 numbers.) Well as of now most of the 1600 and 1800 series numbers are toll free in Andhra Pradesh.. The rest like 1500 is suposed to be toll free from BSNL mobiles but its being billed.. I have been in touch with the"IN services" DE of my telecom circle (cellone/excel) for more than a month how and the update is they are going to fix this problem so that "All level 1 toll free numbers like 1600xxx, 1800xxx, 1500 are not billed when called from bsnl mobile). In Andhra Pradesh you dont need to have a minumum balance of 150/- to call toll free numbers. RAJAN can you please check if 1802233, 1802180, 1802345, 1602233, 1602180, 1602345 are toll free from chennai or not... Pleaes do this favour to me...Thanks a lot in advance.. Will update you when I hear back from the DE.

toll free numbers like 1800-XXXXXXXX are working fine in mobiles in orissa , but i am unable to connect to icici toll free

1802425 is written on bsnl calling cards.. and it is free from kerala and karnataka ( i have checked it !) ITC/Call Now cards can be dialed across the country. so i dont see a point where they can customize to a particular state itself !

Dear appus...
Thanks for the great information... yes ur right ITC/CallNow cards are used all over india.. but the switching system in each state is controlled by respective telecom circle. Like for Andhra Pradesh its controlled by AP Telecom. More over the numbnuts in AP telecom circle never bothered to make the ITC/CallNow access numbers TOLL FREE in Andhra Pradesh for BSNL prepaid numbers...cos.. no one from BSNL prepaid mobile are using it...

You will be surprised to know that no prepaid customer even complained about this in Andhra Pradesh...

More over you will be more surprised to know that ITC/CallNow cards access number are toll free(from BSNL prepaid mobile) in all cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh except Hyderabad city... quite surprising... right... All this just because of the in appropriate programming of local switches... This is a known issue with the concerned BSNL guys and it seems they are trying to fix it...

@Masula

looks strange :wall:

anyways, bsnl has reduced my std to 1re. so no more Calling Cards 😀
