i tried torrent dld with a fren fixed line airtel BB connection, it was giving 200+ speed. Planning to get Airtel, no used of having internet with-out torrent download. For only youtube, google, facebook no used of having tata photon+. I can do those activity at work.Photon+ Rs1500/month unlimited plan has no meaning for me now

From chennai got the 15GB tarrif plan been using it for more than 8 months...started facing the problem 20 days back , complained to tata. They asked me to test my connection speed at speedtest.net and replied that everything was fine at their end. I told them they are purposfully blocking sites like link-removed, link-removed and peer to peer tech......they never solved the issue......Told them to stop cheating, playing holier than thou against pirates (yeah right downloading some tutors makes me pirate) and asked them to cancel my connection....switching to Reliance....my worry is that if other ISP's follow this we will be in big trouble brothers....considering Tata's High School Principal attitude...the future is pretty uncertain.

photon is not good for torrents at all even if direct downloads take place at high speeds, torrents fluctuate a lot.

i think torrent is back, now i am getting my normal speed from today

no man im still getting 12kbps through tata photon before i used to get 150-200 kbps , may i know which torrent client u r using?

am using latest utorrent release. A month ago I complaint twice with no results. After a month downloading @ 12kbps, now i am getting my normal speed @ 100+ from past two days.

It is true guys! I had the same problem... now its gone! 😀 I have attached a screenshot.. i did no change to the settings or anything... traffic is unencrypted and I got speeds upto 342 kBps on the Ubuntu torrent 😉 BTW, I also confirmed with Tata Photon CC, they had blocked in between to limit use of their servers and now they are setting up new high-speed servers... these operations will finish last in Metros.. I am in Lucknow 🙂 Hope this will help.

Dear , this thread was actually started by me. i faced a lots of problems regarding torrents while using tata photn plus, later i shifted bsnl , after 2 weeks from my disconnection they started allowing torrents. Then i thought i made a mistake but my bsnl gives me more stable conection than tata so later i have decided to stick with it.Due to piracy downloads isps block torrents. There are file sharing sites but they cant give as much speed as torrents. So i suggest u to shift to another isp or wait for them to allow torrents again.
