For those of you who don't know, DataFox is an extension for Firefox that allows you to monitor how much data you have transferred / month in case of limited accounts, so you don't have to go to the ISP's website frequently to check your usage. More details here: DataFox - A BSNL DataOne & MTNL TriBand bandwidth usage monitor

Currently DataFox only works for BSNL and MTNL, but I have received several requests over the past year for Airtel support.

I have been told that most people using Airtel are using the unlimited accounts anyway, usage doesn't really matter. What do you guys think?

as i have unlimited account so i dont need datafoxis it compatible with airtel ????

hey ricky you still getting 2mbps?

naa.......not getting 2 mbps these days😢

@/infernalproteus/In Airtel same user can check multiple user accts for telephone as well as Broadband. My airtel acct ( ID/PW PM sent to you ) contains two accounts. Also free usage is neither logged by Airtel or shown in printed bill.

Hi,is there any firefox addon yet to see Airtel Broadband usage in our Firefox statusbar itself? The airtel site shows the usage in a very non-userfriendly manner.

brian (datafox developer) was looking for inputs from people who might want it. there was little response and he dropped the idea. the problem is that unlike msnl/mtnl most of airtel users (even on this forum) are likely to be on an unlimited plan.

Hmm, well I am on the 749 plan, which gives 8 GB limit, but 1 Mbps in night. I didnt go for 799 unlimited yet becuase of the slower 256 kbps speed all day.

well yeah. no one is saying that all users on airtel are on unlimited. but most are. people tend to stick with mtnl/bsnl for limited plans. on airtel they usually go for unlimited ones. the demand for such a plugin is very low. and that is the reason why there are no popular solutions. brian is interested in developing a solution provided there is enough demand. 🙂
