Hi Guys,
After experimenting with many software’s I finally found two which can completely automate the process of Downloading between 12 am and 8 am!!!

Auto Power -on & Shut -down 2 Downlaod (1.26 MB) Home Page - Editors Review (Download.com)
There are many software’s which can Reboot or Shut Down the PC or even put the PC in Standby or Hibernation mode but this software can wake the PC from Hibernation at a Scheduled time (First Check to see if your Motherboard supports this feature, go to BIOS Settings and under Power Management check if you have the Option of “S3(STR)” under “ACPI Suspend Type” and Windows 95 and NT don’t support this feature)!!! So just imagine this, u can program your PC to wake up from Hibernation at 12 am and then u can put the PC into Hibernation at 8 am...This could work even if u were out of station for a few days but the only problem is that the Router has to say on...
Note: When this software is running you should Shut Down your PC by right clicking on its icon in the system tray and clicking on Shut Down from the Quick Launch Menu then click on “Cancel” at the prompt which you get because if you click on “Ok” or Shut Down the normal way your PC will go in Hibernation Mode. To enable Hibernation mode (If your system supports it) right click on the desktop and click on “Properties” then select the “Screen Saver” Tab and click on the “Power” Button or click on “Power Options” in the “Control Panel” then select the Hibernate Tab and click on the check box to enable Hibernation Mode. To Manually put your PC in Hibernation Mode click “Start”

Macro Express 3.5.5.1 Download (7.05 MB) Home Page - Editors Review (Download.com)
This software can record mouse and Keyboard macros plus it can dial and hang-up Triband at a scheduled time and u can even edit your macros plus lots of other features...So its quite useful as it can pause the downloads and close your download client before disconnecting from the internet!!! This will make sure there is no corruption of data and plus u don’t lose any sources the way u do if u disconnect from the internet and don’t pause the downloads...
The only flaw is that u cant program the macros to run at the exact second you want because the scheduler has only two options Hour and Minutes but u can program two macros to run at the same time and then manually edit the macro and insert a timed delay in the second macro so that u don’t lose time for example u can Schedule to dial your connection and start your download client at the same time and insert a delay for the second task and so on...

Of course u will have to enable Bridge Mode to enable Manual Login and Logout but even if you’re not using Bridge Mode u can easily make a macro to run telnet from dos and reboot your Router but I like Bridge Mode but u have an option...

I am pretty satisfied with the about method but if someone else has a better way then I would definitely like to know...

Cheers

hmm...interesting...

Come on someone please give it a try…I can assure you that you wont be disappointed and the total size of the download is only 8.32 MB so u don’t have anything to lose…

I use AutoHotkey for all my scripting needs. I would recommend this program only to intermediate/advanced users, since it involves a bit of scripting, and there is a learning curve, but once you learn the basics you can automate just about anything in Windows with it.

For the ones who want a quicker and more GUI-based automation solution, the 2 programs that you posted look promising.

Hey Mario!!! Thanks for the Reply…The best part of using Autohotkey is that it’s FREE and it can get practically anything done but like you said it requires you to write your own Scripts which is not for everyone…I wanted everyone to be able to use the software so I selected a software which had a easy record and play Option and for the Power users it supports Scripts plus you can use Notepad to write your script plus it even has a simplified form of a Script Editor for the intermediate users…
It would be great if you could give the program a test run and tell us how effective it is from your Perspective…

Cheers…

for complete automation . i just use the bios alarm clock to start my comp at 11:55 PM.then i have put my connection on bridge mode.. so i schedule to start the connect.bat at 12:02 am... and then start bitcomet and 12:05 am and rapget and 12:10 am .. works flawlessly.. havent had a problem yet... 🙂just that when scheduling you chk the box "run when logged in" so you dont need to have to type in a password and username everytime you login to windows.. 🙂

cool manwill try itbut newayz i m up till 1 everydayso i manually start my d/l n in morning i use telnet to reeboot n shutdown by bat file

Hey Akash, chicmagnet,
How did you manage to Pause the downloads before shutting it down in the Morning??? Please let me know...

Cheers...

No need tp pause downloads...Atlst i have neer faced any problems with it...I use BitComet, bearshare and jus set it to disconnect first at 7:58 and shutdown at 8:00...This way it gets some time...Nvr faced any prob till now...Nvr hv my downloads been corrupted😀

dittoeven i disconnect my pc at 7:55 n shutdown at 7:56till nown nuttin happened to ne d/li mainly use bicometn the reason s since ur disconnected so der is not d/l goin on n than pc shuts down

Hi Guys,Ok so there is no problem with corruption of downloads if you close the client without pausing but you definitely lose sources if you don’t pause your downloads so the next time you start downloading it will take slightly longer for your download to start…You don’t have to worry about this if you are downloading a popular file but if it’s a file with limited sources then pausing your downloads might help and I don’t mind a advantage however small it may be and it doesn’t require too much effort to pause the downloads so I don’t see the reason why it’s a big issue…I have been in a position when I have downloaded huge files with a speed of only 5 KB/s for a week only to find that they are corrupt but this was before verified files and advanced file hashing systems were in place but I still fear those experiences and it has become a habit to check reviews and pause before exit etc…Better safe than sorry is what I firmly believe in…Cheers…

i donot think that if we donot pause than we loose some sources.i get constant speed after 5-6 min on most off the torrent n torrent being the major share of night d/l.n never noticeed that i hav lost some sources

losing sources may have been a problem b4.. but not anymore. even if your downloading from only a couple of sources! last few days i have downloads 6 torrents which had no m0ore then 3 peers! and didnt have any problem of losing sources or data loss when my comp shut down automatically..
