News Group With Mtnl

As we are using MTNL i guess Mtnl has a news group server of it's own.Does anybody know the proper address of the news server of mtnl!
 
i donot think mtnl has its news server
 
Man it has it's news server. I had stored in my c: but in recent crash it's gone.Some guy over yahoo chat had given me the server adress don't rememebr his name it's too long .NOt all binaries were accessable but it was like Unlimited downloads from the available resource.
 
coolif mtnl has a newgroup thancooolbut this topic was discussed before also n the answer was nonewayzif u found the address post it here
 
it does not have a newsgroup server.. for nntp access to binaries only way out really is a paid acct

Hey why dont we discuss about all isp's.I wonder if there's any isp in india with proper newsgroup server.
 

vsnl did in the days of dialup. i think. none of the others have them afaik.

that is about it... piracy on newsgroups is what has lead to most isp's in india and abroad doing away with them or just plain restricting them to normal text groups..
 
If anyone is interested in a free news server for text newsgroups, let me know.

Yes, Google has made most text newsgroups available at http://groups.google.com . But if you want to save messages etc. you will want to use a newsreader program such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird, XNews etc.

Here is one site that offers a free newsgroup server : http://dotsrc.org/usenet

To register just send an empty email to: news-signup@sunsite.dk and they will email you a username (which is your email) and a password.
