A PDF accidentally showed up on Seagate's website earlier today with the latest details on perpendicular desktop hard drives
Seagate insiders contacted us early this morning with a few snippets of information (PDF) concerning the upcoming Barracuda 7200.10 series hard drives. Like other Barracuda drives, the 7200.10 series are based on 7,200RPM spindles.

Well, there is RAM drive from gigabyte already,i dont see any reason to not to happen.

well, cost is always a downside for flash/volatile memories.

In that way windows 95 sud load in 10 secs with the present hardware..As hardware improves... software becomes complex

I think you can do that even today (With XP atleast).

Go to power options, and change Power Button action to "Hibernate" instead of "Shutdown". Next time, your PC wont take more then 10 secs to come out of Hibernation.

1 GB ram here. pc still takes more than 20 seconds to boot from hibernation mode. depends upon how big is ur swap file. mine is pretty big 😛

Yes it depends on lot of factors. My system takes around 10-12 seconds to come out of hibernation. I have 1 GB RAM and 2.5 GB Pagefile.

Total RAM utilization is between 800 - 1400 MB most of the times.

System specs:

Looks like driver for your sound card does not support hibernation properly. Try upgrading that.
