Kolkata seems to thrive on its cheap cable Ethernet based broadband providers and we finally have a new player in the market-Wishnet Pvt. Ltd. that seems to be offering the best packages around the corner.:thumb::thumb:

The Pros:

My Personal Experience:

After a harrowing experience with Net4India(potentially the worst ISP in India), our cable operators switched over to Wishnet three weeks ago due to a plethora of complaints. Since then, the changes have been fast and extremely satisfying.:thumb:

I am using the 1Mbps Unlimited package, which comes to 1102 rs.(including tax). The speeds are constantly over 1 Mbps with little fluctuations(checked at Speedtest servers thrice a day). Upload speeds are generally good. 🙂

My download speeds for HTTP and direct download sites(premium content ) has been 120-133 kB/s while torrents(even with ports blocked) gives me a constant of 85-110 kB/s regardless of torrent.:yahoo::yahoo:

The customer care is helpful with basic disconnection/home user problems although I suggest speaking to their engineers for more technical backbone issues.

They have implemented Wimax recently as a part of their expansion policies.
I am on Ethernet cable and extremely satisfied with their QoS(Quality Of Service) and constant delivery of promised packages.:cool2:


Its been only a short time since their launch, but they look like a really promising new player in the market which could shake off the monopoly of BSNL and Alliance.

Wishnet is usually tying up with cable providers to provide service similar to Alliance Broadband. I am not too sure about individual connections.:redface:

Agree with the Net4India part, I suffered for a year too😡😡But Wishnet is up on its guards when it comes to delivery of promised packages.I did not face link-removed issues because of dynamic IP and torrents give me above 90 kB/s even with ports blocked.Guess I'm lucky:redface:Wishnet packages of 1Mbps at 999 have been introduced recently as a part of their expansion plans. Hope they keep delivering the goods like they are at the moment.:thumbsup::thumbsup:Finally, a friend of mine has Alliance and he tells me the night double speeds never actually show up to the users in practice.😗😗At this moment , I wish they opened up the ports but still very happy with Wishnet.:yahoo::yahoo:

all wishnet users are requested to check your internet speed properly. i am using silver package 512kbps line, but i am not satisfied with this connection. when i am surfing net or checking mail, after 15/20 minutes it shows web page not found.

wishnet is a fake internet connectin.

Presently i have taken the wishnet broadband connection.I am from south kolkata. The connection is too good. They are providing good connectivity with less disconnection. I have taken 1mbps connection. Believe me download and upload speed are awesome.Moreover the speed sometimes is greater than 1mbps.I was using BSNL but then i had to surrender that due to bad customer service. The internet was totally down for continuously 15 days. Then i contacted Airtel. They told me that they have no service in our locality. Then i opt for Wishnet and probably this is the best connection i have used till date. I am very much satisfied with wishnet. Moreover they are providing Wish Radio a value added service from Wishnet absolutely free. There customer service are also good.

Thats not working, when I entred my pin code & searched for buisness partner in my location, it shows "no result found". A lso wishnet customer care is clueless about the cable operators, they said they have no system to find the list of cable operators!

I was a customer of Alliance Broadband for 8 years. Recently ABSPL started putting annoying pop under adverts in browsers which is completely unethical according to industry standards. An ISP should not show ads to paid customers. However, they denied when I asked helpdesk. When I put forward every proof that they did it, then they finally accepted that they have done it. I asked whether they'd take it off, nobody could give an answer - so finally I had changed my connection to Wish Net Pvt. Ltd.So far as I know, the co-founder of Alliance Broadband moved away from ABSPL and created this Wish Net Pvt. Ltd. So, WishNet is from that original man! My connection (with WishNet) is only 1 day old and I am yet to ascertain the quality so I won't comment on that as of now. But I'll definitely tell you guys, don't compare WishNet with ABSPL since their years of operational experience differs highly. Give WishNet some time, they'll definitely do better with time. If I start saying problems of ABSPL, you guys will fall off your desks, I do have a big basket of stories in my 8 years of relationship with Alliance Broadband Pvt. Ltd. (ABSPL).Every ISP has its own good and bad, we must understand this. Nothing & nobody in this world is perfect except God 🙂

Wishnet is the best.. with attractive packages and reliable connection..trust me guyz service is much better than any other broadband in kolkata.
