Beetel 220bx Adsl Modem Problems

When i connect my beetel 220bx adsl + modem onto to my windows XP professional running system through ethernet, It is not recognizing the modem as in it does say new hardware found and also says PCI modem but does not have drivers for it and the CD with USB drivers does not have the necessary drivers that windows needs or something like that ... Please in urgent need of help the first time it was installed it was working but when i changed my computer it is not working.. if anyone can help me .. i would be really thankfull.

Try un-installing and re-installing ur lan card. If it doesn't work, call up CC and ask for someone to come over and let him figure it out. 😛

You DO NOT need to install any drivers for connecting through ethernet!! Drivers are needed only when u want to connect through USB. The USB drivers are provided on the CD. Make sure your LAN card is installed properly. Just connect modem to the ethernet port on your lan card and configure the tcp/ip(static or dynamic ip) B) No need for running Add/remove hardware wizard on XP!!

Well that is what i thought .. till i figured that it is not working and the guy from airtel could not fix it. I did try to install the LAN CARD AGAIN >> and checked the device manager for any problems but nothing is showing up.. is there somthing i can do different with the LAN CARD >> I DO NO KNOW > if u can tell me that will be great.

If u have a lan card and not an onboard lan then try physically yanking it out and putting it back in a different PCI slot if possible. Otherwise just connect thru usb.(am assuming the airtel guy tried out another modem which didn't work either).

You need to verify 2 things..- ethernet card is working in PC (i sususpect this is the problem)- modem is workingto verify ur ethernet card is working if u get a ethernet cross-over cable and hookup to another pc, try to ping it. If that works then ur ethernet card is working... If you are unable to do this, then you might need to look for a diagnostic util from the manufacturer of your ethernet card and run that and see what it tells you. I've had busted NICs and device manager has said card was working fine etc.if u get so far hook up modem via ethernet cable and ping 192.168.1.1 (which is the default priv address it is set to) ..if this works then ur ok. Make sure your PC's private IP is *not* set to this IP as well else it won't see the modem.
