They are the one who have created this bandwidth monopoly.Mtnl and bsnl are having adsl2+ platform for dsl servicesmany of advanced countries are not having these capablilitesbut problem is of bandwidth because vsnl is creating bandwidth scarcity by not provinding international operators with Landingstations.Because of this us teleocom regulatory has complained to the sleepy(TRAI) but none to effect.
Hey guys.. I am also wondering about this... Tata has just arrived in our area.. & they told me something similar what Cancer10 said in his first post
They promised me the same thing... for 64 kbps unltd..
That I wud get 64 kBps download speed... but that is bull$heet..
I neva tried to argue to person who promised about this .. As I knew he hardly knew the difference between bits & bytes... lol
But I was interested in the scheme bcoz I m with sify's 64 kbps unltd plan & they have this sick 150 mb daytime limit.. & I want to get out of that limit... & Tata does not have anysuch daytime limit.. right ?? *Wonders*
btw guys... How much download speed can I expect in this plan ??

It might bring more competetion.FLAG has also a similar complaint to TRAI,really hope they loose both.

My friend has tata indicom bb aka vsnl broadband.He has 128kbps connection and he gets 18kBps most of the time and it has no limits like sify or whatever.So with a 64kbps connection ,you can expect surely more than 64k,depends on various parameters,but u can expect ~70-85kbps.

Thanx leomax ! May be I can give VSNL broadband a try..
b'coz I am sick of this 150 mb limit per day.. I always end up loosing 1 or 2 days of my 30 days unltd package.. as I accidentally exceed that limit at times..

I just got myself tata bb,it took almost 12 days for them to install the whole thing,and i have got some 300mb free with installation,i dont know what speed it is,anyway i decided to use it up.Speeds are just unreal,i get 60-100kBps in the middle of a working day,didnt get a chance to see the speeds at night. since ive started using i had no downtime yet , speeds are awesome. Another thing i noticed is that they are using G.lite standard ,so it could restrict thier max speed by 1500 down /512 up k.If g lite is used everywhere in india,can anyone confirm?
