I want to buy a new MP3 player. I would like to know your suggestions. The following are my requirements:It should have a minimum memory of 1 gb, but not more than 4 gb.It should have a great sound quality. It should have FM.It should have a decent battery life.It should preferably be able to play various formats like mp3,wma,wav,ogg.I have not decided on the cost, but a mid range one should be fine. Also I do not care what make it is as long as it has all the above requirements and a great sound quality.Kindly suggest any good ones you know and it would also be helpful if you could provide the cost. 🙂

Sounds like u need an iPod Nano 😛

Nano got no FM 😛 same goes for most Apple products...go for an iRiver or cowon, thing is u might need to get this from abroad.Don't waste ur money on some no name product.

i just hate ipods. period. 😀any other suggestions? i'll have to wait for a long time if i want it from abroad. 🙁

Not unless you can convince an importer to get it for you.i was looking at the box of my BenQ DVD writer and it has this stickerName & Address of ImporterAditya Infotech Ltd44218 Ganesh Bazarcloth marketDelhi - 110 006Now if u could find one in ur city then it may work, be prepared to pay a premium for it tho.

well thats the point, ill have to do all the hard work of finding one and pay him more.instead why not just buy it here in india itself 🙂btw, anyone knows how much does the 2 gb version of creative zen neeon cost?

Go for Transcend ....I recently got a 512 MB player for Rs 2900 .It has all the features you quoted above. (only no OGG support though )So 1 GB should be around 4000.....look aroung at lamington road. (if you are in mumbai)Also , visit a good number of shops before you buy one, because I went to around 16-17 shops , where I was quoted about Rs 3800 for the same player , and then I finally got it for 2900 at this particular shop!!!So a lil bit of walking around helps!!

I've had a Rio Sport mp3 player for 4yrs now. Came with 64MB built in memory plus a 32MB MMC. Added a 512MB Kingston MMC 2yrs back. Gives me a solid 10hrs worth of mp3's. So look for MMC/SD card support. Even if the internal memory is low u can always upgrade.

Yes even i was thinking of expandable memory ones, but if it has internal memory of 1-2 gb I wont mind.Local ones I somehow dont feel right about. 🙁Obviously I would ask a few places before buying to see whos selling it cheaper, even I have experienced that. 🙂

Why don't u check out what is available locally for u and post here.....i mean this really is ur choice isn't it, since u are not able to import from abroad.

;how kin u hate ipods man : 🤔 i love my ipod nano.. it can even play fm wid an attachment great sound quality.. looks so hawt.. u cant go wrong

Some info here.A few weeks back, I mailed the Creative dealers here in Chennai. Turns out the Neon is Rs.11200 approx. (4 or 5 gb i dont remember). The Creative Zen Vision M is Rs.28000 according to him.I got myself the Creative Zen Vision M from the USA for Rs.14500.If you dont mind having only 1gb, i found a SanDisk 1gb mp3 player here for Rs.4200.
