Hi friends,

I want some help.......

scenario :-
I am using BSNL broadband in a company, i have connected it to switch and then configured BSNL PPPoE on Linux server and distributed the internet through squid to users. Through proxy all users can go to internet but if i configure another PPPoE connection on another machine i can not connect to internet, There is also a DHCP server in LAN.

Question :-
My question is how can i configure BSNL modem for multiuser mode i.e. how can i connect two machines to internet with PPPoE in LAN on same time. And as DHCP server is also in LAN then can there be a problem for BSNL Modem DHCP.
Please help..............

PARA TWO :
suggestion:
As DNa A-211-I has 4 lan ports lan1 lan2, lan3 ,lan4
use the spare Lan port to connect the second machine.

Presume by PPPoE you mean Dialer Mode " Bridged"
Presume this system computer is outside the LAN.

When DHCP is enabled in TCP/IP in XP we select
obtain IP address automatically.

Feedback. " bricks or bouquets" !

REF : software upgrade , if needed.

you could just disable the DHCP in the modem and use the LAN's dhcp server since your linux server is anyway doing the ICS Part.. the internert doesnt work when you try the second pppoe connection , because only one dialer can be used at a time..

I can not presume outside my LAN because modem is connected to switch and every connection to modem is automatically connected to LAN.....Multiuser facility is with my connection..but unfortunatly BSNL engineer don't know how to configure it..

Please refer @superprash2003 reply and my earlier reply.Once connected to Internet, with control modem, You cannot dial again to connect with another computer, with dialer mode ,and connect to the SAME Telephone line in the same modem !It is immaterial how many LANs or systems you connect from modem/via switch/hub/ wifirouter etc.

multiuser mode is pretty simple to configure , you can do it yourself.. are you able to login to 192.168.1.1 ?

Is there any ways to control bandwidth for WiFi. Is the speed goes down if is use the telephone. I doubt it must decrease the speed. I must control the wifi accessing speed, as few of my friends are using unnecessary download.

Try net limiter. It is built for such functions. If you are facing speed problem, check your connection. All connections should come after splitter.
