Firefox 66 is out this week.

Firefox 66.0, See All New Features, Updates and Fixes

Firefox now prevents websites from automatically playing sound. You can add individual sites to an exceptions list or turn blocking off. To learn more about block autoplay, which will be rolled out gradually to all users, visit the Mozilla blog.

Improved search experience:

Find a specific webpage faster when you have a lot of tabs open: You can now search within all of your open tabs from the tab overflow menu
Easier search via a redesigned new tab in Private Windows
Smoother scrolling: Scroll anchoring keeps content from jumping as images and ads load at the top of the page

Clarifying the Future of Firefox Screenshots

The Screenshots feature is not being removed from Firefox.

Screenshots users will still be able to crop shots, capture visible parts of pages and even capture full web pages. Users will continue to be able to download these images and copy them to their clipboard.

What is changing is that in 2019 users will no longer have the option to save screenshots to a standalone server hosted by Firefox. Previously, shots could be saved to our server, expiring after two weeks unless a user expressly chose to save them for longer.

While some users made use of the save-to-server feature, downloading and copying shots to clipboard have become far more popular options for our users. We’ve decided to simplify the Screenshots service by focusing on these two options and sunsetting the Screenshots server in 2019.

User feedback about the button copy had nothing to do with the removal of the server. We are choosing to take the latter step simply because the copy to clipboard and download options are considerably more popular and we want to offer a simpler user experience.

yeah. people are more likely to save screenshot on their hard disk or clipboard rather than upload it remotely for quick sharing. makes total sense.

MAJOR MAJOR ISSUE WITH FIREFOX ADDONS - ALL USERS AFFECTED

All (or most) firefox addons are DOWN for almost everyone using firefox.

Some certificate expired which is causing all (or most) firefox extension verification to fail.

Since verification fails - firefox blocks them.

For me all addons have failed verification including noscript, lastpass and multi-account containers. Which means privacy is hit!
