What the company offer is a set of customized toolbars for the users of Blogger.com, Bloglines, LiveJournal, TypePad and Technorati users. It means if you are a heavy user of any of these services, you can skip the default toolbar and chose one of the versions customized for these tools. What you get along with the routine features are services related custom options making them accessible from the search toolbar itself. For instance, if you are a Blogger user you can install the Blogger version. The toolbar now has a Blog This button (similar to Google Toolbar) which let you Blog with a single click. Other custom options give you fast access to the Blogger homepage, dashboard and user profiles. Similar options are present for the other toolbars customized to that particular service. To one his own set of tools! Can make browsing a lot of fun if you are indeed a heavy user of one of these services.

Got this from Neowin few moments back. Version 1.0 certainly sounds better than a version 0.9.3 so let us hope that the launch of 1.0 final would be an historic day. Something that will bring back some sanity to this world of online web and means the demise of the domination of Internet Explorer. We certainly do not need a browser that is not updated for 3-4 years and the developers think its not a big deal.

Firefox 1.0 is going to add RSS support in the browser. And for that Firefox requires the RSS source to be mentioned in the meta-tags. Most Blog tools do it automatically. But if your's does not or you make the RSS file manually, here is a simple way to get it working. You can see this working on this forum itself as I had to manually add the meta-tag to get the RSS thing working...

We're jumping the gun by a bit here....
Firefox 1.0 is still some distance away.

The link above is for the nightly build of an RC (testing) build of a beta build (0.10). And zero-point-ten is still not the same as one-point-zero. The mozilla roadmap shows 0.11 and 0.12 as well. So, even the v0.10 isn't out yet - The big one-oh is some way to go yet.

This is not a put-down for fans - just a heads-up, so that people won't take this build and then declare that v1.0 is not good. By all means test this build, but remember its not final.

This image is the best way to make it clear:

yesterday i downloaded PR (Pre Release) and i DON'T recommend it to any1. it still has a lot of bugs and for example, .exe and .zip files are taken as a streaming object (i don't know what firefox developers want to do with this), maybe it's a future feature of the download manager...

PR or RC are generally not recommended to anyone who wants to use a reliable browser. but it works fine for me, even faster than opera at times and i believe feature set gives a fine idea what to expect in the final version... what do u mean by streaming download of zips and exe. :unsure:also the version I mentioned here was not released publically. it was a pre-release mentioned on the mozillazine and some developers blog! every version of firefox till now has been nothing but a technological preview ;)

All the promotions it is getting will go long way promoting it to more users online who can help the cause by choosing this nifty software over Internet Explorer to make their experiences of surfing more secure and fun. You can be a part of the revolution! Get Firefox! and support the cause. The web can do with a better browser that promotes technologies which makes internet more secure and accessible. And Internet Explorer is inhibiting that development.

This release is pretty important from various aspects. It silences the critics who said Firefox was risky to use because it was yet to get into a final release. And with Google endorsing Firefox with a opening page on their own website, and Amazon releasing their own A9’s search engine toolbar for Firefox… it just seems to be starting of a revolution that might someday help dethrone Internet Explorer from the most used browsers status.
