You'll just have to pay more given the state of Broadband in India today 😉

It's probably hard to believe but my Sify connection has actually been more consistent and faster compared to even my office LAN! I have been getting a consistent 31 KBps download speed on a 256 kbps unlimited pack (the one with 150 MB daily download limit)

Actually state of broadband even in the US is said to be kinda like here in India. Compared to their economic status it is said to be highly overpriced due to which many still prefer dialup. What's probably better is the quality of service (probably). So I guess every business sucks blood, be it Indian or American 😉

And regarding the speed shootup, does anyone know which routers implement the throttling (speed limitation) on Sify?

ill second that. my speed has never dropped below 30 and its been really consistent which is the main reason ive always backed out of switching my isp. the only complaint i have is the bb101 error lol. tht pisses me off. but otherwise, ive dloaded a hell of a lot of stuff, and still going strong 🙂
