The internet light on my modem is blinking without i connecting it to the internet...and since its already blinking..i am not able to connect it..i connect it by using a user name and a password..i checked if its downloading anything on its own or using up my bandwidth.. 😛 but nothing of that sort..mine in an UT300R2U modem with BSNL ISP..home500 plan.the Bsnl ppl say that the lines r fine..and they refuse to acknowledge my problem.. and this is mostly happening in the night times..i agree its a weird problem..pls help me...hope i made myself clear..thanks in advance..

Please check the line is connected to the modem. Also if the telephone line is giving a clear dial tone.

Please mention the whether data or link LED is blinking. I think you are mentioning about the link/DSL LED.

Yep..the line is connected..i have 5 lights on the modem..power,DSL,internet,ethernet,usb... (i connect via ethernet)i connect the modem after the power, dsl and ethernet are glowing and stable..and usually after i connect the internet light starts to blink..but the problem in the internet light is blinking the without i connecting...:huh:it starts to blink as soon as the above mentoned lights are stable.. 🙁

Please mention1. Using a dialler ? or can connect to internet by simply switching ON your modem.2. Dial tone is Ok ?

does your portal show extra usage?? do you have a wifi router??is the power LED blinking?

no..it doesnt show any extra usage..sorry but i donno wat an wi-fi router is.. 😛it has 5 lights on it..and i connect it to the computer using an ethernet wire...

nopsee..the power light is stable...a friend of mine was saying...maybe the bsnl wires got attached to the electric power wires..or street lights...and some induction and stuff..do u think that can be the reason??its so frustrating...it works nicely in the mornings...but troubles me in the the nights during the happy hours.. 🙁 :wall: :wall: 😡 😡

Call the nearest bsnl data centre. I had a similar issue and they solved that issue while i was on the phone itself. No use talking to wiremen.
