OOPS
That kernel-devel package is b0rked
😛, it don't have exported symbol rtnl_trylock declared.
Grab these packages install it and get going
http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/core/upda...87_FC5.i686.rpm
http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/core/upda...87_FC5.i686.rpm
to upgrade use command
rpm -Uvh /path_to_kernel_packs/kernel_rpm
[/b]
Hi Vichitra,
After installing those 2 RPM, I followed the instructions to make the driver and replace it.
After that dmesg output shown me at the end
----------------------
8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.27
----------------------
But lspci -vv -xx gives me the same Unknown error
🙁
-------------------------
Ethernet controller: Unknown device 1904:8139 (rev 01)
-------------------------
When I restart and try the dmesg,
I get the following for 8139too
--------------------
8139too: Unknown parameter 'irq'
8139too: Unknown parameter 'irq'
--------------------
I think it is tough to configure with this fake realTek card
🙁,
Can you please tell me which card I should buy so that it gets detected automatically without any issues...
Thanks,
Raffi

I just found this link
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/showth...ht=LAN+Card+FC5
in fedora forum.
One guy had the same problem and solved it by replacing with
Netgear 32 bit PCI adapter.
Anybody uses Netgear 32 bit adapter for
AMD Athlon + FC5 ?
Thanks,
Raffi
