Ok i know some of you guys may be tired of answering same questions over and over again.Just a few more which would avoid confusion for other readers too. Here is what most of the people seems to be confused. I had got LAN connection icon in my tray after configuring my Modem, but broadband is not connected.1.What will be the IP,is it diffrent for diffrent cities or zones or whatever.2.Username and password, shall be provided by BSNL or they are the one as we enter them during the modem configuration(ppoe??).3.TCP/IP configuration for the modem before and after configuration(as some of the readers said that they will be diffrent.)4.How to configure LAN settings in Internet Explorer(Manual or are set Automaticaly).

Ok i had just connected succesfully. So i can answer these questions now.IP adress and DNS depends upon zone NORTH,SOUTH,EAST ,WESTenter correctly accrordingly.Login and password for the WAN settings shall be provided by ISP(some replies are name@dataone etc which is invalid)Config TCP/IP settings for nework adapter according to your zone.the WAN settings in the modem configuration are same as TCP/IP settings for network adapter. No need to manually configure Internet explorer LAN settings.it will aquire them Automaticaly. No need to use windows xp ppoe client,i.e do not create any new broadband connection through network settings. The default LAN connection created by MODEM is enough to take care of the rest(if you have correctly entered the Login and password as given by ISP)
