What nonsense. This will not serve the purpose they are trying to achieve. Telemarketeers know better than this. It would hurt folks who depend a lot on SMS - college students and bf-gf jodis

This is non sense 100 per day it should be max 100 numbers .This means u cant joke on the gov on sms anymore like cwg and kalmadi lol .They felt harassed and with world cup near precautions are on lol.

This is fair enough. Atleast we will get respite from telemarketing smses. Hope this applies to them too...

telemarketing folks can use multiple mobile numbers. hundreds of them. numbers are cheap. for us, it is a headache.

and yeh. restriction should be on number of mobile numbers you can an sms in a day. i believe even a smallish number like 10 would be cool (though it would annoy people who are sending holiday wishes to their entire address book).

someone shud challange this.. because just because government cant do anything abt telemarketers.. it is taking away our freedom.

oh well and what will happen to Google SMS channels??

I had made a social/community group which has more than 100 users (all joined with consent, strictly no spamming occurs), and SMSes from Google SMS come from single number and that number must be sending lakhs of SMS per day... so what will happen abt it?

i got d same msg on docomo...me nd my gf nw hate d indian govt..nd docomo too fr nt delivering msgs on time..

Now let c how other companies react on this.. :isleep:

I guess if something like this goes on, somewhere in near future we will be allowed a limit of max. 100 min. per no. per day !😗 maybe who knows ..

i too heard the same ... its to restricting the telemarketing ..they are going to allot separate number series like 72 or some thing like that for all tele marketing company so its easy for us to know that this call is from telemarketig ...

Earlier we were able to send 500sms/day.
But, now according to TRAI guidelines, we are able to send only 100sms/day....

Here, is a SMS that I received from Reliance.

Dear Customer, as per TRAI guidelines with effect from 1-Feb-2011 you can send upto 100 sms per day. Thank you. Reliance

well dont know abt this restriction but i read somewhere tat Trai is making some rules so tat the marketing peoples wont use the sms bonus card for their marketing

Me too received an SMS from Aircel. According to Trai 100 sms x 30 days = 3000 sms. I've got 5000 local sms free. So 5000-3000 = 2000 sms loss for me....LOL....i hardly use 100 sms p.m

May be they will start sending SMS from TM-Google or something like that or just they will be having multiple normal numbers like facebook has

i am not sure if this system is really applicable to everyone. i mean banks have alerts to send to their customers. so does credit card companies. and of course... the mobile companies themselves... they also send alerts to customers. more details are needed. a lot of people have genuine reasons to send more than 100 sms per day. there must be enough loopholes in this system.
