Sun Direct signs exclusive deal for new Fox channels

afaqs! news bureau | afaqs! | New Delhi, April 07, 2009 Sun Direct, the DTH (direct to home) operator which is a 80:20 joint venture between the Maran family and Malaysia's Astro Group, has entered into a deal with Fox Television to make three of its new channels available exclusively on its platform. These are Fox TV (FX), Fox Crime,FOX Sports and Baby TV.Fox TV (FX) has character driven programmes, humour and entertainment targeted at a sophisticated and premium audience. Fox Crime has shows on crime drama, investigation and mystery. FOX Sports has shows on Under ASIANEURO Sports on live.Baby TV is targeted at children under three and their parents. Advertisement Interestingly, these new channels are part of the base pack which costs Rs 299 for a four month subscription, without any additional costs. The channels will remain free up to March 31, 2010. Tony D'Silva, chief operating officer, Sun Direct, says, “We believe in keeping our viewers excited with our innovative offerings. Content, packaging and pricing are our forte and we believe in offering the best to our subscribers in the most affordable way.“These channels are mainly focused on the English speaking audience. We expect them to do well in the urban/metro markets,” says D'Silva. Sun Direct will promote the new channels on the Internet and through its information channel, adds D'Silva.The DTH operator has recently added Real TV and WB to its base pack as well. Sun Direct has not revealed its subscriber base. However, the figure is estimated to be more than two million. Though Fox has voiced its intentions to launch these new channels, it has not officially launched them. A Sun Direct spokesperson denied that the deal was a trail for Fox channels and said that there would be no change in the subscription package until March 2010. :thumbsup:
 
for sundirect there is no proper call centre they will give call centre no # 1,39407575 it never works,
2. 18002007575 no responce for this number
3.080-22357272 it will go to Udaya TV they will tell sir pls call Sundirect no But in the Sundirect web site also it is there...

Why i am telling this is almost two weeks over my sundirect not working even though there is 300 rs balabce, Sundirect people also d't know what they are doing ... two weeks i am simply waiting for this bleady sundirect 😡 ,,, very bad :huh:

FOX SPORTS is a great sports channel.If they add it,then they have done a big job.😀
 
I don't think they will launch fox sports here cos then it'll come into direct competition with espn-star sports...
 
but SD will prove the impossible as possible and fine e.g would be SD HD :thumb:
