I m also having same problem,Plz anyone help.My internet speed goes down due to this.

1. Please mention your modem - model and make

2. Use the following values in TCP/IP properties of your connection.

IP : 192.168.1.25

Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

Default gateway : 192.168.1.1

3. If confident, reset the modem to factory default and reconfigure it

i did setting TCP/IP to __________________IP : 192.168.1.25Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0Default gateway : 192.168.1.1____________________Now it Shows my lan to be connected BUT its giving me half the speed with this.Without this settings, lan says limited or no connectivity,my internet connects,speedtest.net download speed: 1.37mbps.With these settings, lan says connected,my internet connects,speedtest.net download speed: 0.47mbps.What should i do so that lan shows "connected" with automatic ip in tcp/ip settings?how can i configure modem to act as DHCP server so i will be able to get the IP when the client requests?thanks for your reply.
