I have a BSNL Home 3300 plan with 1mbps , it looks like the practical download speed iam getting is around 30-40kBps when downloading a file or attachment, which seems to be very slow, I have seen people posting that even with 256kbps speed line they were able to get the same speed.

so any one has any experiences with 1mbps, can you post what speed you are getting with different connection speed.

i am using this url as a benchmark http://www.onewebclick.com/k2.zip , can you people try the above link and see how much are getting , note down the speed until the speed satbilizes, mine is around 32kBPS.

any general help on improving the speed will also be appreciated.

it could be that the webserver is limiting the download speed to 30-40 per client... try multiple downloads at the same time from different sites, then see the total download speed you get...or try downloading a new released torrent file, say an ISO of a Linux release... that should give you a better ideayou should get about 115 kBps or so...

Hello webclick..... u want us to download tat tool of 188 MB jus for testing the speed of our line ?

I don't now why i get a feeling that with that speed u can't complete the 10 gb limit given to you so if you want I we can really help you.I really don't like wasting the dl/ul limit,I leave my account right at that 1 GB or around limit:lol🙁don't really give out....)

is it a dsl connection u have got?i am gettin speed of 25kb/s and yes i also think that the server supports these speeds only!try dslspeedtest.com and try "tz internet connection booster"(make a back-up of ur connection settings-included in software).do reply if something works/happens!
