Hello guys !!!!!!

A slight confusion came in to my mind regarding Night Hours of Tri B 590 NU plan.

According to the site -

"DSL 590 NU Plan Users: Please Switch ON CPE during Night after 00.00 hrs and ensure disconnection before 08.00 hrs for availing Unlimited Free Internet Usage"

My doubt is -

Suppose one of my session lasted - 15 Feb' 2006 23:45 hrs to 16 Feb' 2006 00:09 hrs (Note: It gets in to the next day and in Night hrs too) and then I shut down my CPE+computer and reboot it. Start a new session at 16 Feb' 2006 00:20 hrs onwards and switch off the CPE+computer before 16 Feb' 2006 08:00 hrs. Will the last session (16 Feb' 2006 00:20 hrs onwards) come under free Night hrs? or is there any risk involved?

I know some ppl have been screwed even after following the correct rule, but answer my query according to the standards laid.

Also, if any figure goes under the "NightMB" heading in the http://register.bol.net.in site, can we hope tht it will not be billed?

🙂

I don't think so but I might have misunderstood the question.I also have a question. They say switch off your modem after midnight and before 8 am to ensure free downloads. What if I don't switch off my modem after 8 am will it still be free?I'm just saying that as they count the MB's which I use after 12am if I don't reboot my router then why should they log the MB's if I don't reboot at 8 in the morning. Shouldn't it work both ways?

in delhi you wont be billed for Night MB they are just to show how much you have used at night. you will be billed according to MB used 🙂

Seems some confusion is there. I will reframe my question -

According to the site -

"DSL 590 NU Plan Users: Please Switch ON CPE during Night after 00.00 hrs and ensure disconnection before 08.00 hrs for availing Unlimited Free Internet Usage"

My question is -

If I do surfing from 11PM to 12:15AM and then shutdown the Modem and PC, later restart them at 12:30AM to 7:45AM. Will the session from 12:30AM to 7:45AM come under the free Night hrs? or is there any risk involved? Coz. there is some confusion if we carefully read the sentence framed in the MTNL site: Please Switch ON CPE during Night after 00.00 hrs. According to the scenario that I have mentioned, server will record the 11PM to 12:15AM session, in which the CPE remained ON before and after 12AM without break and can make the 12:30AM to 7:45AM session as the paid one, as the condition stated in the site was not met.

Also, can we hope that we will not be billed for the MB's that goes under the "NightMB" heading in the http://register.bol.net.in site?

I hope its pretty clear now..... 😛

Nah. They won't record it as you started it after 12. But your 11 PM to 12:15 surfing will be logged. Even the 15 minutes.

Yeah shud happen tht way only.....but still its MTNL & anythin can happen 🙁

With MTNL expect the worstAnother question.. if I restart my computer and not my router do I still stay logged in, as in does my Ip add change?

Router is independent of computer if used in PPP0A/PPPoE modem. So a router restart is necessary, failing which u stay logged in.

and if u start ur downloading at 12:15 and finish before 8 then obviously it should not be charged.

contrary to lot of posts over here, I have never been charged in excess by MTNL but obviously other ppl have been and the possibility exists.

Dont worry if they are goin to overcharge u will have proof to show in form of sessions if u log off and log in after 12 and before 8.

well, my experience is this...

i'm billed for only those MBs that i download after 8 am and before 12 am (midnight) according to the MTNL server time...it hardly matters when i restart/reboot my modem...

in this case, u won't be billed for the MBs that u downloaded between 12:00 am and 7:45 am as per the MTNL server time...hope it clarifies the things... 🙂

Mr Coolbuddy_79.... I think ur rong there...
I had tried it out and was scRewed up big time...
I had ma net connected since 11 pm till 7:50 am thinkin that il not charged 4m 12 am onwards but i ws in for a shock wen i so ma rem MB zero!!!!
Dunno abt mumbai but i ws charged in Del...

As far as i c, the router must b rebooted after 12:00 (MTNL server time) to ensure the nite MB's...
It was my personal experinece..... Mayb i was plain unlucky !!!! 🙁

Whichever time u surf, if it comes under "NightMB" slot, u won't be charged.......can we keep this logic in our mind.... 😛
