airtel digitaltv set up box- problem

i am using the airtel digital tv set up box for more than 10 days , i am getting power supply through audio pins, video pin, dish antena cable on the rear side of the stb., due to this my digital tv has gone dead, my electrician informed me there is a problem in the stb, or there may be some problem in AC/dc power adopeter supplid by the airtel , requested to all guys to check up their stbs , tell me solution, but however audio, video is working, but getting electic shock when i touched audio video pins
 
I get shock when i touch the connection to LNB of the antenna and i dont think its a problem
 
its working fine for me as iam using it for 3 months frm oct when i bought.did u call the customer care and inform. did any airtel guys came and checked it..is it not working still
 
It may be your TV. I had noticed similar problem with my dishTV STB. I could feel a mild electric shock when I touched my dishTV STB. I later noticed that it happens when the STB is connected to TV through AV cables. I need to check if it happens with my DigitalTV STB.
 
probably a earthing problem with the dish tv stb.
Yes may be, but how to solve it? The STBs have just two pin plugs and not the three pin plugs required for earthing.
 

Sometimes it's more expedient to call customer care, rather than posting your problem on forums. Don't get me wrong, we are happy to help, but for your own good, it may be faster to solve your problem if you call up Airtel. If their digitalTV people are like their broadband people, it will most probably get solved the same day.
 
well .. Guys... it is recommended to Ground the Dish antenna. I will post link to a giude that I found out .... where it was mentioned. In every tall building there is provision of Earthing Ground utilising the Copper strip. We need to utilise that for grounding.Thanks..
 
All electronics products will have some minor problems and defects but for some people it would be fine for long periods so dont compare ur hardware probs with others😀
 
I am getting fringes while watching channels. my signal strength is 231. any specific reason or stb problem?
