Marat Safin, Mirza Sania wins

Federer's match going on, taken 3-1 lead against Seppi

4-1 now, he just played an amazing point, moved court length (his side) twice in same point (fwd-back-fwd-back) and won the point.

Btw ball is swinging too much after being hit.

thanxx for the update......

fed will win this one........

You mean match or aus open? Btw, he won first set 6-1.

You mean match or aus open? Btw, he won first set 6-1.
i think both.....

though he has not been so consistent in recent times bt still he is a gr8 player.....

Federer wins 6-1, 7-6 and 7-5 but NOT a convincing win.2nd set was very tight, up and down, he almost lost 2nd set when he saved set point in at 5-6.3rd set was tight too, he was almost broken twice and then it took him 4 match points, one when leading 5-4 and 3 more to win last game.He needs to improve his backhand and not just depend no forehand.

he has an awesome backhand!but i think thats whats giving him a little problem. his backhands havent been as effective lately. havent seen the match, so dunno how well he played.

Yes his backhand is good in a sense that he can place ball anywhere from any position on court. But it doesnt have enough power. These days he tends to take all balls on his forehand (even on first serve of the opponent) and uses backhand only when he thinks that ball is coming too fast to take it on forehand.(i.e. he cant take extra step to take ball on forehand side)P.S: Added useful links on top of the first post.

Andy Murray goes in round two, opponent retires in 2nd set.Australian Hewitt, the unseeded, is down 2-1 (sets) against Fernando Gonzalez and 40000 crowd supporting him. He is up 4-1 in 4th set, though.

@amishThanks for the link......... I believe this year Aus open might be won between Murray or Fedrer......... Can some one tell me when will these 2 meet if they win all their matches...... One thing for sure our Sania Mirza will not win the tournament......

Are you kidding? How can you even think abt that!

Abt Federer v/s Murray, it wud be Final and not before that.

But b4 that Federer might have to face Safin in 3rd round, Del Petro in QF, Roddik OR Djokovic in SF

For Murray it wud be Tsonga (finalist last year) in QF, Nadal in SF

In short it wud be bit of a repeat of US open last year.

You are right we should not even imagine about that.........

By the way i feel fedrer will surely have a tough time with Djokovic or Roddick in the SF..........

And also i feel that Surely Murray will reach final.......

Last but not least any upset thing might happen in the grand slam tennis......

i have few hopes of seeing roger equaling pete's record this time around. he has been losing so many matches lately.
