The programme recorded before power failure is lost, but recording continues when power is restored before the end of the programme in EPG. One should invest in UPS to be 100% sure. Even if the programme before power failure is retained, it is of limited use because of discontinuity. No fun in watching partial programmes.

For movies its not a problem as those movies are repeated again and again in the channels......with respect to live sporting events even the recoding is lost due to power failure we can still record the highlights ......... Even yesterday i was recording the live match between WI - ENG.......my need for recording for Day 1 of the test is to see the wickets when it fall....even if the power is lost i can still record the highlights see the fall of wickets..... But regarding the power failure its not in our hands.........other wise we need to have a UPS as you said to avoid inconvinience....

An ordered shut down and retention of saved programmes during power failure is not at difficult to implement in the software. A couple of seconds power backup is sufficient. So one can watch what happened before power failure and what happened after power restore. Of course same programme must continue when power returns.

We should be happy that we are living in cities thats one main reason where power failure is very very very less...........:thumb:
