So, I already have decent experience dealing with Spotify customer support. When the launch was still rolling out, account creation was not working with email id. I ended up creating my account with Facebook. Now Spotify has a pretty messed up system. If you do not pick a profile name at the time of account creation (like with Facebook system), your profile name is based on your Facebook name. If you disconnect, your profile switches to your randomly generated user id.
Now I wanted to kill the Facebook connection since the app started showing my userid instead of my name. pinged them on Twitter and it worked well. They freed my email id. I created a brand-new account. They moved all my data from old account to new one. And gave me a one-month voucher for the free period that I could not avail on the new account.
now of course, remains to be seen if my old account is deleted properly. if my card is still attached to it, they would end up charging me next month for my premium subscription 😛
still finding it hard to get thumbs up/down button to appear. Spotify support forum has a bunch of complaints regarding this. only response is that spotify is always experimenting with different settings for different users.
