Hi guysrecently my dad's 3 year old Samsung R220 broke down. He was just thinking of a way to stop using his cellphone. He wants to be more 'disconnected' while others dont feel the same. It's actually quite useful for him as he is always on the move. Now that his cellphone has broken down he refuses to get a new one. He feels its an unnecessary expenditure. So to convince him I would like to get a really CHEAP phone. I dont care about the manufacturer and I dont care about the features (as long as its a phone its ok with me). The price range I am looking for is Rs.1500-3000. Anybody suggest me a good phone?

well motorola has a phone that costs just 1000 bucks. but i had say, Nokia 2600 for 3500 bucks is a good value for money phone. rugged and good battery life with colored interface.

that advt of ajay devgon and kajol of rs. 2199 with handset and free lifetime validity!? you may consider that phone also!

if u want a Nokia 3585 ( cheap ) , which works with tata quite brilliantly . then u can contact me , i had to switch to Airtel for international roaming so had to leave tata 🙁 , it has all the features , u can check at nokia site and if u are intrested then contact me @ abhishek_vij2003@yahoo.com.

Btw go for a nokia phone if ur buyin a cheap model coz nokia phones are far more sturdy than samsun or motorola , siemens cheap mobile range is also good but lacks on some features.

I am interested in it. A friend wants a new (not 2nd hand) GSM phone around rs.1k
Which model is that motorola u mentioned? 🙂

I forgot to get back to this topic. I bought Nokia 1100 on Monday. I tried locating the Motorola handset but apparently the dealers dont keep it. Nokia 1100 rocks! Its a great phone. I would recommend it. For 2500 bucks it was a good deal.

1100 has white blacklight and its a pretty good phone and battery life is also very good 😉

1100 has green backlight...1108 has white backlight...1110 has change of looks + the much hyped Talking Alarm (Jaago India Jaago)...

I would suggest Nokia 1100 wuld be a better option for u: some of its features are • Stores up to 50 names and numbers and one touch dialing• Built-in flashlight, changeable color covers, vibrating alert• 44 ring tones: 37 standard, 7 downloadable• Built-in games, calculator and clock with alarm• Unit Weight: 3.03 oz.• Size (in inches): 1.81 x 4.17 x 0.79See if they can help…u take a decision… 🙂 😀
