Bill not coming properly, urgent advice and help needed

Hi! I am having problem ... I do not get bsnl bb bill properly.

I am having HOME 500 night unlimited PLAN (Upto 2mbps)
I am from Kolkata (Salt Lake).

I do excessive usage per month (upto 40gb) but recieve only about Rs 1000 in total bill out of which call charge is around Rs 400.

Question is I am using for more than 2 years, and I have done lots of excessive use. About 40gb/month (excluding night unlimited). So my bill should be excessivley high. ABOUT Rs. 33,000 per month. Why I am not getting that ??

That have encouraged me to continue for 2 yrs. I did not care to check online usage.

Why the bill is not coming. I mean bill is coming ... but with less value ... giving example ... full bill below

I didnot use to check online usage earlier. I used to pay the bill as it came monthly. But once I checked online, I calculated ... I should pay around Rs 40,000 per month if so. My usage for 1 month is around 40 Gb ... Please suggest me what I should do ??

See ... 40 gb / month usage (excluding night unlimited) ... = 40 x 1024 mb
Cost of usage = 0.80 x 40 x 1024 = Rs. 32,768

I calculated total of 2008 (Jan to Dec) ... total usage (excluding night unlimited) is ... 347.698 gb.
Now ... cost of 347.698 gb = 347.698 x 1024 x 0.80 = Rs. 2,84,834.202 (Around 3 lacs)


I am not sure about the bill structure .... can any one tell me what is happening .... Why the bill is not coming as expected ?? ... Is it going to come when I desconnect ?? ... If that happens I will get hefty amount of 10 lakhs.
What should I do in this matter ?? Is the bill ok ?? Tell my knowledgable friends. I am very much confused. After 2 yrs of ruthless usage, I am trying to be ready to face the consequences.
What should I do in case the bill comes suddenly ?? Can I argue in consumer court that I was not recieving proper bill for 2 years ??

Home 500 has unmetered usage between 0200 and 0800 hours. Are you saying that you used 40 GigaBytes during daytime? Why don't you check your usage on portal now? How did you calculate 40 Gigabyte figure?You will not get a huge bill in the future. The bill has a monthly cycle. You pay a particular month's bill and that is settled.

I know the night unlimited time ... I am telling about usag in daytime (ie excluding night unlimited).

I didnot used to check online as the bill was low. I checked online to find excessive usage (which I actually do, I agree) ... there from a month avarage, I am telling its 40 gb. ( I can see only 2008 data, no 2007 data is visible/available on portal) I used to do excessive use as I used to get very low bill. This is not my entire fault.

Please check the bill info I posted, does that inlclude Broadband Usage cost (I see only bb modem fixed charge and bb fixed monthly charge) ??? .... I have posted whole of the bill data.

I am thinking if they are going to send the total bill when I am going to disconnect / or after say 3 yrs. Did that happen in any case ??

Id suggest you stop using up so much bandwidth! This is surely BSNL's systems issue (no human verification). I don't think BSNL can be blamed as they can pass it off as a technical error. But you can be sued for the usage as BSNL will have all your records, as even though you got the wrong bills, you continued using without informing. Better stick to the monthly quota from now and hope and pray that BSNL doesn't come across and check your usage. :ashamed:Anyway, you are lucky for how much you have downloaded! I'd have done the same if I were you :cool2:

Probably you have purchased the modem and
your usage was below 2.5GB day time usage. every month.
So no need to show in Bill. Usually shown as Misc .
What is your usage for November 2008 ?
Give screen shot/or details of of summary entry only.


You may/can get at least six months
usage records. from usage website.
just check the Summary Billed usage ( less free NU etc )
If it does not exceed 2.5.GB every month. nothing to worry.

No, that is your entire bill. There are no seperate bills for rent and data usage.

One more advice needed ... should I disconnect the present connection and then reapply after say a period of six months ? Would that reset my sin (erase my usage) ?? Then on I will be careful.

Ha ha 😀 ... You think me as "spoiled brat" !!! ... I thaught I will use the net in that manner as I didnot get the bill upto considerable amount. I never backchecked the usage online. I used to follow the bill. If I knew my actual usage earlier, I would not have spent my parent's hard earned money in that manner. I have stopped using BSNL beyond the limit.

BTW, I am not 'this generation' guy, I am little older than this generation 🙂

Thanks ... I agree. I will be a good boy from now on. I had downloaded about 50 gb / month.

One BSNL raises a bill and you pay it in full on time BSNL cannot claim the extra usage.So don't worry about your past usage but be careful from now onwards.
