I too have a 256kbps connection from Exatt & the max speed that I ever get is 18.4 kbps. And I pay 990/- pm for the connection.

After your local provider adds the maintenance charges & taxes, the cost of the 512kbps connection comes to 1850/- odd pm. That's pretty expensive, so I never went for it.
