For the past one month i am facing slow speed in the internet connection. When i tested the Check speed it shows. 1.67 MBPS but when i try to acces web pages the sites are loading very slow. What might be the reason for it.??😡

Use OPEN DNS

OpenDNS will not solve the speed problem. It only helps in resolving the server. (mapping domain name to ip address).Regarding speed it might be due to the undersea cable cut. wait until jan 1.

BSNL Home 250 Open DNS

Try Firefox Browser with Add on IETAB to switch to IE if needed.
Another browser Google Chrome.
Also Opera .

Speed upto 2 Mbps Max D/L 256KB/sec (*conditions apply )

@Sahyadri
Google search ; openDNS and speed.
Two more opinions. Open DNS recommended.

OpenDNS speeds up your web surfing because their DNS servers have a large cache and hence can resolve web domains into IP addresses much faster than your local ISP

A DNS server translates a human address like google.com into a numerical IP address so your computer can take you to the right site. Usually, this takes a few hundred milliseconds to complete so it's barely noticeable, but over time, these milliseconds can really build up. Also, your ISP's DNS server isn't always reliable as witnessed by Comcast subscribers recently when their DNS server failed, leaving customers unable to access Google and other sites. By using OpenDNS and FastCache, you can solve the two problems of reliability and speed............................
