Hi friend, I am new to this forum & I wanted help regarding sify broadband. Can anyone tell me what is the username & password to login in sify gateway ie, 10.250.165.1 As a subscriber, I should be able to login but I was not provided with the username & password. This is possible in Airtel broadband ie, 192.168.1.1 The username is "admin" & the password is "password" by default. Thank you.

I have no clue what you like to do after you login into the gateway😱😕

@ blink, other than the gateway, you will need your ip address, subnet mask & the dns serverswhen you have all these details entered in your TCP/IP settings, you need to obtain the sify login client.for the first time, you will have to register. in this process, you will have to create a user id & password, which you have to use everytime to login

I was Airtel broadband user. In airtel, I can login to the gateway using the default username & password. Inside the gateway, I want to enter my ip, port number etc for port forwarding so that I get the maximum speed as per the plan. Plz tell me how to register a username & password, give me the link of the site here. Thank you.

The gateway that u are talking about in Airtel is the modem configuration page but in sify connection u are not provoded with a modem you are directly given a ethernet cable which is connected to the gw over few hubs or switches (this depends on how far you are from the gateway phsically) the gw credentials are not given out to the customers for security reasons and clearly a customers has nothing usefull to do by entering into gw untill and unless u have some kind of malacious intent

Sify Broadband uses the latest technology called 'fixed wireless.Simply put, this uses a stationary 10" X 10" rectangular device called the subscriber-unit. Mounted on the roof of a Cable Operator's building, this device points to the closest Sify Base Station that sends and receives signals. As the signal is received in your Cable Operator's subscriber-unit, it is sent through wired cable to your home/building to reach the computer in your home. The result: Amazing internet speeds which do not depend upon telephone line quality as in the case of a Dial-up connection.

Means you are in a LAN network with the cable operator.

(a).. imagine the cable input as coming from an ADSL modem
(b)...if you connect a wireless router ,
(c)....you may be able to do port forwarding in your WIFI router.
( Note : Not tried : I use Airtel/Dataone BB via telephone lines )
Test :
1... Sify cable output Rj45 to computer Internet Ok ?
2..............remove rj45 from computer ethernet port and
3................connect to WAN/Internet port of WIFI router.
4..................Another RJ45 from LAN1 to computer.
5.................. Access WIFI router settings.
6.....................Confirm Internet works !
7.......................Then go for PF options.
