Slow speeds?

Hi!Im getting low speeds since 1st jan on my 128 kbps unltd plan. I used to get 16-20KBps download speed, now im getting only 10-11KBps.
 
No one!??!! So its just me! 🙁 :blink: :angry:
 
max you should be getting on your connection is 16KBps. Seems there was a glitch with your connection and Airtel fixed it 😉
 
I know i should get max 16KBps, but now im getting only 10KBps!! Not more than that anytime of the day!!! Its sad once you are used to 20 KBps! 😛 😀 Anyway!!... 🙁
 
Thank God, am not the only one getting this problem.
Am on 256 u/l and the speeds have dropped from 260 to 150 since 1st Jan.

HI! Folx In Chandigarh too since this morining 3.1.2006 10K dropped off my speed ! so from 27-28K dl on 256 K connection i cant exceed 20K - the suckers capping proggy is so lousy that the moment u hit 20K it throws u back 5-6K and the torrent again works up speed and its trown back again (

I guess the A**holes at Bharti who bought 17 new Mercs for their top managers hav decieded to decrease and spread around the same bandwidth and get thier fuel costs out frm us....fu**ers are just taking advantage of their monopoly.

This is really bad!!! I just shifted to airtel cuz of good speeds!! :angry:
 
Hmm... a lot of fluctuations right now! From 8 to 17 to 32 to 21 to 5... (KBps i mean). I wonder what Airtel is up to!
 
All along I had been complaining about their CC and their slow speeds....while most people here were praising Airtel to the skies. !t's is good that they provide an unlimited "upto" 256 K connection, for 1000 rupees (which is a bit high according to me). But that is no excuse for giving very high speeds to some people, and very slow speeds to others (need uniformity). I am being honest here... the day BSNL or TATA come up with better plans i would not hesitate to shift. I am waiting for the upgrade to happen, but seems increasingly unlikely now until some other ISP matches their rates. But you never know folks!I also experience speed fluctuations.....Reminds me of the SIFY forums.

well, i wouldnt hesitate togo for the above mentioned plan. On tata, i'm on a 128kbps plan And its for Rs.1000 a month!!

So which is better? 😛
 
Vince, u did not read my post carefully.... I had said that I would not hesitate to shit to rival ISPs if they come up with better plans. Sorry, Airtel does not command my loyalty. “Upto” 256 k for 1000+ bucks is steep I feel (If I had constantly been getting speeds of 30-32 kbps then it’s a diff matter…but still doesn’t excuse them for giving “Upto” 256 k connections in 2006) check the other topics in this forum to know what people around the world surf on…. we’ve debated a lot on the issue of ISPs ripping people. Well who knows you might also turn out to be amongst the unfortunate who experience slow speeds on Airtel…. then what would you do?

I don’t know why you are on TATA right now…. beats me? since you know that you can get better speeds on Airtel for the same price. Always were told that TATA unlike other private companies are more ethical and social oriented…. however that doesn’t seem like the case here.
 
Well Guys I go with gabruputt! Airtel now is going down the ladder! Before I used to praise Airtel but now, got fed up of their CC and Slow speeds! Well in my city (Madurai - Tamil Nadu) hardly there are about 1000 DSL Users and for me the speeds I'm getting on my 256k line varies from 29.....27.....21...19.....25......23.....and the upload speeds is much slower @ 5....to 16kbps the max! What is this? What's up with Airtel! I think my previous ISP TATA was better! I never used to drop off from 64kbps on my 512kbps line! The only reason I shifted to Airtel was MONEY! And now I feel Rs.1100 per month for DSL is too much like gabruputt said! My frenz in Singapore and Malaysia pay just Rs.700 for 512kbps/256kbps Unlimited ADSL per month! And we paying Rs.1000 for idiotic 256k? Moreover they get speeds upto 477kbps even during peak hours! But us? Even during nite 2am I get 25kbps!! Shame on you Airtel!

I never said Tata was great. Their plans suck totally.
Tata might have good service, but their thinking on plans rots.

Airtel doesnt provide BB/phones in my (and many) areas..
Reg. Airtel, i've met many people who've got cnfused with Airtel's BB plans (not only becoz their rates, but becoz of their combo with their land-lines)

But on wiring, Airtel's wiring (their laying of wires in the areas they are present) seems very professional... unlike Tata's "hanging wires from the lamp-posts" technique...
