modem auto connect to DIALER ?

my friend connects to data1 just by switchin his MODEM ON, but he wants to switch back to the dialer where he can type ID/PASS then connect via windowssome one describe the steps needed to change the settings to have a dialer fr those using modem auto connectto help ppl to go frm dialer to auto MODEM also someone plz explain the steps ... :blink:
 
just reset the modem and install the the dial up
