Hi Guys,Right at the outset I would like to make clear that this is an individual experience. Some people in this board have suffered real bad because of Sify and my experience doesn't make that right.I moved to Pune from Bbay 3 months ago, and had to choose an internet provider. I stay in Viman Nagar which has few choices as far as vendors are concerned. I essentially had to choose between Tata and Sify, both through my CTO. I initially tried to get BSNL but inspite of being located pretty close to their office here, they dithered and eventually told me they have to upgrade lines and could take 3 months. That left Tata and Sify. I found Tata expensive, apart from having already once faced billing issues with DishnetDSL before I left Pune for Bbay and opted for Sify's 256 night plan at 545pm.I had already checked out the comments on this board, I normally do research and was expecting the worst. I thought 545 pm was not too much too experiment and Tata plans were not making sense to me financially. 3 months later I've little to complain about. Downtime has been 3 days, a breakdown at Sify apparently. I have consistently got more than 32KB/s download speeds. Infact for the last 2 days for the first time I have been getting 70-77 KB/s which is weird because it's never happened before. Plus of late I can browse during the weekends too, day and night. For someone who works daytime plans may not always make sense since one usually logs in at night and weekends.Overall I think at 545 pm this is pretty good and real value for money. The only reason for me to shift would be if service levels suddenly plunge with too much downtime. Beyond that I'm probably among the very few people on this site who have had a good experience with Sify. Maybe its the CTOs, maybe its the Sify infrastructure and management in individual places, or maybe Sify has actually been making an effort to improve in the last 3 months. Their rates are certainly the most competitve. Thanks for reading.Raul

overall sify is good. people who mess around are the cto and hence sify suffers.

Sify Sux http://img317.imageshack.us/img317/1728/tease0xf.gif : P

Infact the whole idea of LIMITED internet sux.

Sify is trying to redefine broadband and not in a good way 😉

Be happy dude.. U'l enjoy for somedays.. It shall work gr8Then after some days u'l be in our Anti-Sify Gang! 😉Coz sify shows it "aukad" very soon. 😀

did any one recently tried the sify Linux client?try it and then tell that Sify is good.it sucks man. I downloaded latest linux client and tried to login to sify, but it says "plz install latest client"Infact, I installed the latest client only.these guys don't test their software before releasing to public.

hahahamanoj........ sify does not know how to make a linux BB!!so to use sify u need only windows! even mac version does not work!hope some 1 who knows programing joins sify and makes the clients for linux and mac(java)!till then use windows ...so simple...sify does not care to make on its own! so either dump it from next month or wait or use windows!!! so simple!!😛😛

whatever.... but i know for sure that i wont be happy with the kinds of limits that sify sets....

All the isp's (except exatt) suck in this regard that they dont respect the customers choice for their OS. Pacenet people actually told me "use windows..why u want to use linux" before i got wild with them on the phone and they gave me a linux acount.

Let's ask Sify to provide a free, legal copy of Windows to us if it wants to support Windows only.

Sify doent know the meaning of broadband.TRAI classifies broadband as internet connection with atleast 256 kbps speed

Sify doesnt provide the under 256kbps schemes as "broadband" ..its 'high speed internet"
