Does God Exist?

i am an atheist to the core

this thread is great. 😀 looking for more replies. 😀

God is a nice idea as long as it is not taken too seriously. A divine entity that watches what others are doing, keeps score, throws some people into hell and others in heaven and so on? Some would call it voyeuristic to the point of being creepy. It actually confirms Descartes and his theory of a malevolent genius impeding the thought process and our understanding of the universe (Why should god be good? He can be evil too). Descartes is famous mainly for two things - cartesian coordinates and the statement - I think. Therefore I am.

On a lighter note, a very interesting piece of writing on House M.D.
Foreman: God would probably want you to take the stick out of your butt and get over this.
Cameron: If there is some higher order running the universe, it's probably so different from anything our species can conceive there's no point in our even thinking about it. But I doubt He gives a damn about my butt.
Foreman: You believe God might exist, but you don't think about it? It's the most important issue---
Cameron: I think penguins might as well speculate about nuclear physics.....

heh, read this on another forum with similar tpic-"‘When Louis Armstrong walked on the moon, he heard sounds in a strange language which he did not understand. Only later, after returning to earth, did he realize that it was actually the azaan’‘While on the moon, Neil Armstrong heard a peculiar sound but he could not recognize what it was. When Neil Armstrong went to Egypt, he heard the adhan, and said, “it was spacey something similar I heard while I was on the moon". Egyptian Friend told him that, it was the sound of Azaan (call for Muslim prayer). And Neil Armstrong immediately became Muslim because of this experience.’"WHAT CRAP!

What I hate is not the fact that people disagree with Atheism or Agnosticism, but the assumption that a belief in god is a prerequisite to morality. Some of the most immoral people are believers, and some of the most ethical people are non-believers. i.e. There is no correlation between a belief in the existence of god, religion and morality! And that's why I hate quotes like sam999's. (Though no personal offence to him).

i can understand quotes like these will make some one angry, its naturalbecause they r related to specific religion, next time i will never post toa certain religion but in general.
