I got an ad along with my newspaper today about Five Network Solutions. Its based in Bombay. They have a plan Unlimited 300kbps at Rs 800 per month. Data transfer is 4GB at 300kbps. 11pm to 9am weekdays and Sundays free data transfer. 30 days validity (I dont know what this means). Its got other attractive plans too. The cheapest is 400MB @ 256 kbps for Rs 250 per month. 30 days validity (I dont know what this means). There is another good plan: 2GB @ 80kbps for Rs 350 per month. 11pm to 9am weekdays and Sundays free data transfer. 30 days validity (I dont know what this means).Does anyone have this connection. How reliable is the speed? Do they allow p2p connections, DC++, LAN ? Do you get constant speed all the time?

30 days validity means the pack is valid for 30 days...You pay that much amount every month.

if they have unlimited 300Kbps connection then how come they have a 4GB limit? Do they have a website? Some telephone no. perhaps? I too am in Bombay BTW 🙂

It says unlimited hours, which means that you can use internet for unlimited no. of hours and not actually unlimit data transfer. The 4 GB data transfer is in fine print. Yeah they have a phone no.: 3952 5724, 3097 9492. I havent called them up.

5Net somehow has very good bandwidth. I have been using it for over 3 years. But their customer service is shoddy. They wont reply to your phone forget the email. It is but natural coz it is a private company, a cablewalla. So if you buy something with limited transfer from them, you should try to consume most before expiry.Lately I am using their 160kbps unlimited with no strings attached. I get full bandwidth. I don't have to use any managers to achieve the speed. All P2P tech work and at full bandwidth. Bit pricey, paying 1200 odd for a month, but it is worth the performance.Should be available at Dadar. In fact they cover a huge area, Kurla to Parel and other pockets of South Mumbai.

What is CAT5? Are you guys talking about the CAT5 cable ?I have net9online and they have a hub in the building so I dont have a router at home. How can switch to 5 Network ?
