I need a USB cable for my Sony Ericsson J300i, and the weird thing is that the price in the market is anywhere between 600 to 1400 bucks..... and to add to my confusion the cable (DCU-11) is available on ebay.in for around Rs. 400 after shipping.... so what's going on here?

What is the best place in Delhi to get such a cable, and how much should I expect to pay? Is there any problem with buying a 'local' cable in terms of durability etc.?

in mumbai at manish market (VT) u can get almost any cable under rs 200 ...infact the popular ones near 120 ....theyre pretty good for a home user ..no issues .... i didnt buy the software cd since i use the oxygen phone manager ...ive heard pallika bazaar in delhi is the hub for such stuff ..or even some tibetian or chinse market (electronic market) ....

I had Mototrola Phone for which I bought a datacable ( which was USB to Micro USB on phone....which actually most digital cameras also use) for Rs 220 from pallika....without software.........software u better download off netNext I went to get a data cable for my Sony T230, nobody was willing to give less than 350....i didnt buy it.....coz i didnt need it badly....will try againThere's not much differnece b/w original and local....just feel the quality and go for it if its cheap

I got one from Nehru Place for Rs. 350.... It's not quite the local one, but neither is it original.... the nice thing is that it has a slot for the charger at the base of the cord (like the original) which lets me charge the phone while it is connected to USB.

But Sony Ericsson seems to suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkk a lot of dirty dirty things when it comes to drivers and software.... took me 5 hours and numerous visits to different forums, and in the end by accident it somehow all started working... still don't know what I did, so hopefully I don't have to reinstall the thing anytime soon......

You didn't say anything about the USB cable, buddy 🙂 anyway, I have no regrets..... the phone is awesome, and I am definitely waaaaay happier with it than I would be with any Nokia phone in it's range (or for that matter Samsung or LG or any of those ones). I did hell of a lot of research in terms of going to different stores and such, and I think it has paid off....yes, the USB cable's drivers adn installation succcccccccccccccccccckssss...... but once you get it working and get Float's Mobile Agent working, it's awesome.... and the charging thing is sweet too.....

........aaaaaand like I said, I have no regrets about going the SE way...... the phone is awesome and much much better value for money than Nokia et al. Yeah, the cable sucks, but from what I understand their customer service is way better than Nokia's shitty one.

cool. Is there a good phone in about 5000INR? I want one in clamshell design!
