Second thought.... for ppl who think its "chalta hai" just coz its India....Turn around n bend b4 me n after that u can say "chalta hai", i wudnt mind 😀

you know the name 🙂 check his posts. 😀 makes for interesting reading.

talk abt hard work.....now i'll have to search (manually or if search box searches for specific username based searches). But really, I'd like to see some guy postin something good about Sify (so that i cud change his opinion ....evil grinnn ) 😀

its damn easy. 🙂 just click on the users name to visit his profile and click the link Find member's posts

😛 i really don't want to criticise a user who found me a bit on the negative side. i really have not used dialup from home at all. so i do not find sify to be saving me money. 🙂only people happy with sify are those who were tired of paying buck per minute and are happy with 2-3Kbps speeds from cheap 500rupee packages.

I'd rather suggest to put a forum wich reads something like "Good things abt Sify"... even a new topic will do.....coz the fact i know for sure is, its (the forum or topic) gonna die next day itself.Come on guys, if u thin Sify is really cheap, i'd request u to compare the prices with other countries, where every tom n hary has a 256kbps connection like a dialup thingy 😛 n its so bloody cheap......here.....even 128kbps is a luxury just coz mindset of all companies is similar, n that is .."earn money" whereas it shud have been :earn money while servin the society).I wish i was in some communist country 😛

Only 13 votes till now, i guess Sushubh also voted 😀 😀Where r the rest of the users ?I'll @$$ume they r too happy to kill their time here..... 🙂) 😀

sweden has already introduced home connections at speeds of close to 1gig/s. costings i know of work hours. a typical guy in IT can earn enough in 8-10 hrs of work to get 1 month of connectivity. i got this from a dude on opera irc who was from sweden.here my earnings of 1 day get me night only connectivity at 128kbps. and i dont get 24x7 connectivity even if i am ready to pay 3 days worth of pay. coz there are no packages available!

Well, if you talk about the European countries and North America, they have these cheap internet connections for a long time now while we are just getting started on it and with time we would reach those levels too.I know it's all to easy to start expecting prices and services at par with the developed world but get a reality check 🙂 . Think where were we a year and a half back. The only unlimited internet packages costed around Rs. 1000 / month. If dial-up speeds of 2-3 kbps at Rs. 500 seem too cheap and worthless packages then I don't know what to say except that it is losing a sense of what Internet in India has been since it started. I would like to @$$ert that even this is a great improvement over the internet packages that were available a short while back, out of the reach of most people who'd still go to cyber cafes. By the way Sify gives double of 2-3 kbps as we all know, on a good day 😉

Of course this doesn't mean that I support the behind the scene campaign that was started 😉 , or the substance of that campaign. We can all agree and disagree on the main forums. But that doesn't negate the usefulness of this forum. And it doesn't change Sify as a company about which this forum is primarily about.

I live in india for 4 years now.. form day 1 it is the same bullsh#t with internet,.. and 4 years later it is still exactly the sameBack home in Europe. i had ( that is now like 6 years ago) a new package, that was 300kB/s down and 30kB/s up for 30 Euro's a month , unlimited ( for 75 Euro a month, u even get 800kB/s and so on... sooo fast!)6 years ago!!Now.. i am fooling around with 48kbps and its even less.. its soo embarrasing to tell my friends back hoem what i haveIts soo sh*T!!!!In SIngapore, Korea, they all have fast speeds as well..

All these 256-500 kbps connections at economical costs have just started to come up now here. What we had were pitiful connections at around 30 kbps for humongous bills for a long time as late as a dozen or two months back. Four to six years ago the public sector phone lines ruled. There was zilche fibre optic infrastucture. Private telecom companies were nowhere to be seen. The internet boom is a very recent phenomeon here. And it's progressing at a fair pace as I see it.Basically I don't give a damn about speeds. Affordablity should be a priority in our markets and I see that happening now and am quite happy. Do you know the fate of countries like Egypt and Phillipines? They are still languishing at internet that costs them around half a dollar an hour. Our economy is more closer to Phillipines and Egypt so I'm ecstatic seeing the internet packages coming up around me. Korea and Singapore are developed economies. We aren't there yet, maybe in 10-15 years. This is not a cynical view or an view of hopelessness. It's just an articulation of a step in the development of our information economy, comparing which to developed economies is meaningless.

10-15 years to get broadband? i think u meant 10-15 years to get developed. 😛broadband should be here in 12-15 months. about being a developed economy. unless 50% of us decide to adopt celibacy, there is little possibility.
